Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings (647-5839 or 647-5700) - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceProvide minimum 18” clearance at door # 8 and men’s bathroom door.Provide minimum 24” from the toilet to the end of the grab bar.Bathroom door cannot be encroach more than 12” into the clear circle.Identify and clarify if all dashed lines are being removed on Demo plan or not, (Clearly identify all items) eg: Beams, exhaust airs and…..Show height of the partition wall on detail A/A12.1.Show height of the soffit on detail A/A10.3.Provide a complete architectural section of 1-HR. corridor detailing fire resistive rated construction of the walls and ceilings. Detail all duct and other penetrations CBC Sections 708.4, 1017.1, 715.1, Table 715.4 & 716.5.4.( provide detail for partition wall in the back of the store.)Provide typical complete section view through one-hour corridor(s) showing compliance with CBC Sections 1017 and 708: - Size, spacing, and material of framing members. Note gauge and ICC number and installation/construction requirements for metal framing members. - Method of attaching framing to the building structure. Compliance shall be shown with CBC Section 1607.13 for lateral support of the walls. Do not support top of walls to suspended ceiling system unless calculations and drawings prepared by a registered engineer are submitted for review. Submit structural engineering calculations for walls in rooms with a floor to building structure above height greater than 14’. - Sheathing material and details of attachment. Note type, size, and spacing of fasteners. - Height of partition, suspended ceiling, structure above. - Reference each wall and ceiling fire-resistive assembly to a CBC Chapter 7 Table and item number. - Fire blocks and draft stops in combustible construction in accordance with CBC Section 717. Show location(s) and provide typical construction details. - Fire/smoke damper locations, installation requirements, and required access doors. Refer to CBC Section 716 and Mechanical Code Section 606.CBC Section 1133B.1.1.3, Recessed doormats shall be adequately anchored to prevent interference with wheelchair traffic.CBC Section 1133B.2.5.1, Hand-activated door opening hardware shall be centered between 30” and 44” above the floor. Latching and locking doors that are hand activated and which are in a path of travel shall be operable with a single effort by lever-type hardware, by panic bars, push-pull activating bars, or other hardware designed to provide passage without requiring the ability to grasp the opening hardware. Locked exit doors shall operate as above in egress direction.Drinking fountains serving the area of new work shall be accessible. CBC Section 1115B.4.6 and California Plumbing Code Section 406.5. (provide elevation to show the compliance)CBC Section 1117B.8, Fitting and Dressing Rooms: - The bottom of mirrors provided for use by persons with disabilities shall not be greater than 20” from the floor. Mirrors to be used by persons with disabilities shall be full-length, measuring at least 18” wide by 54” high, and shall be mounted in a position affording a view to a person on the bench as well as to a person in a standing position. - Clothing hooks shall be located not greater than 8” from the floor. - Every accessible dressing room shall have a 24” by 48” bench fixed to the wall along the longer dimension. The bench shall be mounted 17 to 19” above the finish floor. Clear floor space shall be provided alongside the bench to allow a person using a wheelchair to make a parallel transfer onto the bench. The structural strength of the bench and attachments shall comply with Section 1115B.8. The minimum clear space within the room shall be 60” width and length. No door shall encroach into the required space. - Exceptions:- Minor specialized display areas that do not exceed 200 square feet in floor area and to which the general public is excluded need not be made accessible.- Offices in sales facilities that do not exceed 5,000 square feet in total area, that are located on non-accessible levels, need not be made accessible.Provide complete ceiling plan.Provide engineering with complete framing detail for Gypsum board ceiling on the sale areas.Provide Ceiling joists ICC report No. and span table.Provide complete structural calculations and drawings for suspended ceiling systems showing compliance with CBC Sections 711.3.1, 803.9, 1613, and 1705 (special inspections) and ASTM C635 and ASTM C636. (OR SEE COMMENTS # 24 TO 25)The reflected ceiling plan and details must show compliance with CBC Sections 711.3.1, 803, 1613, and 1705 (special inspection) for suspended ceiling systems.Note ICC Research Report Number on the drawings for the suspended ceiling system. (ICC Report Number 1308)Show complete top connection detail on sheet K/A10.3 and A /A12.1.Show where the box beam on detail D /S02.1 will be supported.In detail D/S02.1 and H/ S02.1, show how the soffit will be supported vertically.Tenant improvements in the MainPlace Mall shall show compliance with the following special provisions and CBC Section 402: - CBC Section 106.3. Tenant improvements at 2800 North Main, Main Place Mall, shall show compliance with “Code Analysis and Fire Protection and Life Safety Concept” prepared by Code Consultants Incorporated, dated “Revised February 18, 1986, and February 22, 1990 (1991 Mall Expansion).” - Note on drawings: Duct and smoke removal system modification is not allowed and shall be in compliance with the “Code Analysis and Fire Protection and Life Safety Concept.” - Main Place Mall, other than anchor stores, is of Type IIB fire-sprinklered construction. In accordance with CBC Section 603.1, walls and permanent partitions shall be of noncombustible construction, except that permanent non-bearing partitions may use fire-retardant treated wood (CBC 202) within the assembly. - CBC Sections 402.7.2 and 708. Each tenant space shall be separated from other tenant spaces by a wall having a fire-resistive rating of not less than one hour. The separation wall shall extend from the floor to the underside of the ceiling above. - CBC Section 402.4.2, Number of means of egress. When the distance of travel to the mall exceeds 75’ within the public area of a tenant space or when the occupant load served by the exit to the mall exceeds 49, not less than two means of egress shall be provided. The occupant load of a public sale area shall be computed at 30 square feet per occupant. Occupant loads for other areas shall be computed in accordance with Table Number 1004.1.1.
