If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker. Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit 3corrected sets of plans.Meetings between the project applicant/designer and the plan reviewer shall be by appointment only. This review does not include mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler system, or electrical work. Separate plans, applications, fees, plan checks, and permits are required for mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler systems, and electrical work. Call 647-5800 for information. Please remove all electrical sheets. The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance: - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings (647-5839 or 647-5700) - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceExisting building is located in Flood Zone area designated as “A” zone. Provide calculations on the drawings to show that proposed work is less than 40 percent of market value of existing structure for exemption to comply with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Agency and Santa Ana Municipal Code (SAMC) Chapter 7. This project is in a special flood hazard area designated on the flood insurance rate map (FIRM) as zone A or AE. This zone requires that the lowest finish floor elevation (including basement) of the structure shall be at (or above) base flood elevation determined by a hydrology study for the A zone, or at (or above) the base flood elevation specified for the AE zone, on the flood insurance rate map. All elevations must be referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum. Reference should be made to the Flood Plain Management Ordinance, Santa Ana Municipal Code, Chapter 7, for complete requirements. Drawings shall show compliance with said ordinance including noting flood zone and finish floor elevation." (When applicable) Note on plans: "A Federal Emergency Management Agency National Flood Insurance Program ELEVATION CERTIFICATE shall be completed by a California Licensed Land Surveyor or California Registered Civil Engineer who is authorized to practice land surveying. The completed ELEVATION CERTIFICATE must be submitted to the Building Inspector at the time of foundation inspection, and a final certificate must be submitted at the time of final inspection."(When applicable)The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) requires the following to be wet floodproofed: Refer to FEMA Technical Bulletin 7-93 and the attached city handout on Floodproofing for general requirements and restrictions. Reference sheet PV 5, Show minimum concrete with F’c of 3000 psi. CBC Section 1904 and CBC Table 1904.2.2. Compressive strength of concrete shall not be less than 3000 psi. Indicate ICC approval number for roof sealant when roof is penetrated for attachment of solar pedestals to existing roof.Reference last page of drawings (Sheet 4 of 4, Incorporate complete results of calculations per sheet A-1 of structural calculations. Provide details to show positive attachment from pedestals (total of 17) to roof main members, details to show actual condition that is applicable to this existing roof framing where pedestals are attached for seismic requirement. Indicate the weight of proposed solar panels and concrete pedestals on the drawings. CBC Section 1603.1.2 Roof live load. The roof live load used in the design shall be indicated for roof areas (Section 1607.11). CBC Section 1603.1.4 Wind design data. The following information related to wind loads shall be shown, regardless of whether wind loads govern the design of the lateral-force-resisting system of the building:Basic wind speed (3-second gust), miles per hour (km/hr).Wind importance factor, I, and occupancy category.Wind exposure. Where more than one wind exposure is utilized, the wind exposure and applicable wind direction shall be indicated. The applicable internal pressure coefficient.Components and cladding. The design wind pressures in terms of psf to be used for the design of exterior component and cladding materials not specifically designed by the registered design professional.
