CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDMENTSPlease indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit3corrected sets of plans.Meetings between the project applicant/designer and the plan reviewer shall be by appointment only. Please call (714) 647-5831 for an appointment.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)
- County of Orange Health Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (667- 3600)
- Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuancePlease note existing restaurant is classified as A-2 occupancy and Type V-A construction (1HR fire rated) reviseall construction details including new structural workand all soffit and furred out wall to show compliance with 1HR fire rating of new walls ceiling, etc. Reference each fire assembly to Table 7 and item number. Description of each fire assembly to be on the drawings. Plans shall indicate how required structural and fire resistive integrity will be maintained where a penetration will be made for electrical, mechanical, plumbing and communication conduits, pipes and similar systems. CBC Section 106.1.1 and CBC Chapter 7. Note on the plans the ICC Research Report number, U.L. number, State Fire Marshal number, or approval number of another agency accepted by the City of Santa Ana. Provide typical detail to show location and fire rating of dampers.Show compliance with following items when proposing change toexisting Type of construction from Type V-A (1HR) to V-B (Non-rated) ;When buildings are on the same lot based on Section 503.1.2 of 2010 CBC, provide a site plan to show location of each building and location of assumed property lines between buildings.Show compliance with exterior wall protection including parapet/s for each building based on Table 602 of CBC. Each building is to comply with Table 503 for allowable floor area based on new Type of construction.Provide a letter addressed to Building Department from property owner to acknowledge that Type of construction is reduced from Type A (1HR fire rated) to Type V-B (Non-rated). Please note this reduction may change the insurance rate. Letter to be signed by property owner.Obtain Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) approval for this change.
