Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceLabel and note hourly fire rating of: - Fire walls ( per original permit issued on: 5-17-1978 for this building, there is one “FIRE WALL” in this building. Please clearly label this wall on the plans).Reference each fire-resistive assembly to a CBC Chapter 7, Table and Item number: - Fire wallsDrawings submitted to the Building Division for review shall provide the following information to insure compliance with CBC Chapter 11B: - An accessible entrance - An accessible route to the altered area - Accessible restrooms - Parking, signage and alarmsPriority shall be given to those elements that will provide the greatest access in the above order.If a walk crosses or adjoins a vehicular way, and the walking surfaces are not separated by curbs, railings or other elements between the pedestrian areas and vehicular areas, the boundary between the areas shall be defined by a continuous detectable warning which is 36” wide, complying with the CBC Chapter 11B.Detectable Warning Product Approval. Only approved Division of the State Architect, Access Compliance (DSA/AC) approved detectable warning products and directional surfaces shall be installed in accordance with CBC Chapter 11B.CBC Chapter 11B, Accessible parking spaces serving a particular building shall be located on the shortest accessible route of travel from adjacent parking to an accessible entrance. The proposed accessible parking shall be centrally located on the plan to serve all the units in this building.Sanitary facilities serving the area of new work shall be disabled accessible.Show accessible restrooms for units 2206, 2208, & 2210 since the fire damage/ rebuilt is covering these units as well. Revise the drawings to show compliance.Sanitation facility toilet room floors shall have a smooth, hard, non-absorbent surface such as Portland cement, concrete, ceramic tile or other approved material which extends upward onto the walls at least 6”. Walls within 2’ of the front and sides of urinals and water closets shall be similarly finished to a height of 4’.Ensure sanitary facilities comply with CBC and that the bottom of the mirror is no higher than 40” from the floor.Note type of safety glazing complying with CBC Section 2406 for glazing in fixed or operable panels adjacent to a door where the nearest exposed edge of the glazing is within a 24” arc of either vertical edge of the door in a closed position and where the bottom exposed edge of the glazing is less than 60” above the walking surface.Skylights shall comply with CBC. Note on the drawing ICC Research Report number and installation requirements for skylights using plastic materials. Plastic Skylights shall not be installed within that portion of a roof located within a distance to property line or public way where openings in exterior walls are prohibited or required to be protected, whichever is most restrictive. Refer to the noted code sections for other important requirements/restrictions.Show/note ventilation requirements on the plans in accordance with the CBC and California Mechanical Code (CMC) requirements for each type of use. Note on drawings: - All enclosed portions of buildings customarily occupied by human beings shall be provided with natural ventilation by means of openable exterior openings readily controllable by building occupants, with an area not less than 4% of the floor area being ventilated. CBC Section 1203 and 2010 California Mechanical Code Section 402. - Provide mechanical ventilation for each area/room in accordance with the 2010 California MechanicalCode.Please call out type “X” drywall for rated assemblies.Sheet S-1 shows a shear wall at line 8. Provide construction details for attaching new roof plywood to this shear wall.There is a typo on sheet 19 of calc for lateral load on E-W direction. The value of 305 # verses 350# is used for calculating the chord force. Please revised the calc. for this typo.Per calc sheet 20, the dimensions of the roof diaphragm for this building without interior shear wall is: 305’ X 65’. This value exceeds the maximum diaphragm Aspect ratios of 4:1 per NDS, “special design provisions for wind and seismic reference 2008 Edition”. Provide an interior shear wall to cut the diaphragm span.See red marks on following sheets of drawings. Sheet A-2, A-3, A-5, and S-1. Please resubmit marked up set with revised plans for recheck.
