The plans are approved for Building Code compliance if a note gets added to these plans for the glass within 24 inches of the new store front doors at Westside to be tempered glass. This note can be added to the submitted sets of plan and be initialed by the designer. The applicant shall obtain the approvals listed under item # 6 of the original plan check list below, before building permit issuance. APPLICABLE CODE: 2013 CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE (CBC) WITH CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDMENTS All items noted on this plan check report must be addressed. If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Orange County Fire Authority approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100) - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) - County of Orange Health Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings ((714)433-6000) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceReference each fire-resistive assembly to a CBC Chapter 7, Table and Item number: - WallsThe width of the level area on the side to which the door swings shall extend 24” past the strike edge of the door for exterior doors and 18” past the edge for interior doors. Show compliance for the entry door from the West side.Note on the drawings: “Maximum effort to operate doors shall not exceed 5 pounds for exterior doors and interior doors, such pull or push effort being applied at right angles to hinged doors and at the center place of sliding or folding doors. The bottom 10” of all doors except automatic and sliding shall have a smooth uninterrupted surface to allow the door to be opened by a wheelchair footrest without creating a trap or hazardous condition.Drawings submitted to the Building Division for review shall provide the following information to insure compliance with CBC Chapter 11B: - An accessible entrance - An accessible route to the altered area - Accessible restrooms - Accessible telephone (if any) - Accessible drinking fountains, and - Parking, signage and alarmsIf a walk crosses or adjoins a vehicular way, and the walking surfaces are not separated by curbs, railings or other elements between the pedestrian areas and vehicular areas, the boundary between the areas shall be defined by a continuous detectable warning which is 36” wide.The truncated dome shown on sheet C1 shall extended to cover the exit door out of the building. See red marks on this sheet of drawing.Provide completely dimensioned floor plans, elevations and sections of sanitary facility insuring wheelchair clearances complying with CBC Sections11B-603.2.1,11B-304and the California Plumbing Code.The women restroom does not seem to comply with the turning circle. All dining areas shall be made accessible to persons with disabilities. At least 5% of the seating spaces, (5% X 83 = 4.13 to be rounded up to 5 seats)shall comply with the follows: - Provide a minimum 30” x 48” wheelchair clear floor space. - Provide knee space at tables at least 27” high, 30” wide and 19” deep. - Provide height of tables between 28” – 34” from the floor ground. - Provide access to accessible seating space(s) by aisles with a minimum of 36” in width.Counters where food or drink is served shall show compliance with the following: - Top of counter is between 28” – 34” above the finish floor. - Knee clearance to be a minimum 27” high, 30” wide, and 19” deep. Exception: Knee clearance is not required at checkout counters or service counters. - show compliance for the serving counter. - In existing buildings, at least one checkout aisle shall be accessible in facilities with less than 5,000 square feet of selling space.The wall separating this space, A-2 occupancy, from the adjacent occupancy, B, shall comply with Section508.4 and Table 508.4 CBC. Revise the drawing to show compliance on the plan.The type of construction on cover sheet shall change from: type “I” to: type “VB” to match the City’s record.Update the code edition on sheet A-1 to 2013 CBC.
