If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)
- Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceCBC Section 1008.1.8, Note on drawing: “Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.”CBC Section 1133B.2.5, Note on the drawings: “Maximum effort to operate doors shall not exceed 5 pounds for exterior doors and interior doors, such pull or push effort being applied at right angles to hinged doors and at the center place of sliding or folding doors. Compensating devices or automatic door operators may be utilized to meet the above standards. - In new and existing construction, accessible check stands shall provide a clear checkout aisle width of 36”
with a maximum adjoining counter height not exceeding 38” above the finish floor.
- The top of the counter lip shall not exceed 40” above the finish floor.
- Accessible check stands shall always be open to customers with disabilities and shall be identified by a sign
clearly visible to those in wheelchairs. The sign shall display the international symbol of accessibility in white
on a blue background and shall state “This check stand to be open at all times for customers with disabilities.”CBC Section 1117B.8, Fitting and Dressing Rooms:
- The bottom of mirrors provided for use by persons with disabilities shall not be greater than 20” from the floor.
Mirrors to be used by persons with disabilities shall be full-length, measuring at least 18” wide by 54” high, and
shall be mounted in a position affording a view to a person on the bench as well as to a person in a standing
position.Provide minimum 44” clearance at the cashier.Show water fountains are in compliance with CBC 2013,11B-602.Provide 59 “to the end of grab bar for floor mounted and 56” for wall mounted toilet.Tenant improvements in the MainPlace Mall shall show compliance with the following special provisions and CBC Section 402:- Note on drawings: Duct and smoke removal system modification is not allowed and shall be in compliance
with the “Code Analysis and Fire Protection and Life Safety Concept.”
- Main Place Mall, other than anchor stores, is of Type IIB fire-sprinklered construction. In accordance with
CBC Section 603.1, walls and permanent partitions shall be of noncombustible construction, except that
permanent non-bearing partitions may use fire-retardant treated wood (CBC 202) within the assembly.CBC Section 402.15.5.2, Plastic panel and plastic signs. Within every story or level and from side wall to side wall or each tenant space or mall, plastic panels and plastic signs shall be limited as follows:
- Plastics, other than foam plastics, shall comply with CBC Section 402.15.4.
- Foam plastics shall have a maximum heat-release rate of 150 kilowatts when tested in accordance with
approved recognized standards (see CBC Section 402.15.5) and shall have the following physical
characteristics:
- A density not less than 20 pounds per cubic foot; and a thickness not greater than ½”.
- They shall not exceed 20 percent of the wall area facing the mall;Please cross reference details to the locations on the plan view.
