Tempered glazing is required if the bottom exposed edge of glazing is less than 60 inches above finished floor.R308.4.5 Glazing and wet surfaces. Glazing in walls, enclosures or fences containing or facing hot tubs, spas, whirlpools, saunas, steam rooms, bathtubs, showers and indoor or outdoor swimming pools where the bottom exposed edge of the glazing is less than 60 inches measured vertically above any standing or walking surface shall be considered a hazardous location. This shall apply to single glazing and all panes in multiple glazing.Exception: Glazing that is more than 60 inches, measured horizontally and in a straight line, from the water’s edge of a bathtub, hot tub, spa, whirlpool, or swimming pool.Sheet 2Specify landing dimension near the garage and dining room. R311.3 Floors and landings at exterior doors. There shall be a landing or floor on each side of each exterior door. The width of each landing shall not be less than the door served. Every landing shall have a minimum dimension of 36 inches measured in the direction of travel. Exterior landings shall be permitted to have a slope not to exceed ¼ unit vertical in 12 units horizontal (2 percent)Exception: Exterior balconies less than 60 square feet and only accessible from a door are permitted to have a landing less than 36 inches measured in the direction of travel.Specify separation construction between garage and dwelling.R302.6 Dwelling/garage and/or carport fire separation. The garage and/or carport shall be separated as required by Table R302.6. Openings in garage walls shall comply with Section R302.5. This provision does not apply to garage walls that are perpendicular to the adjacent dwelling unit wall. A separation is not required between the dwelling unit and a carport, provided the carport is entirely open on two or more sides and there are not enclosed areas above.Specify self-latching on door schedule #5. R302.5.1 Opening Protection. Openings from a private garage directly into a room used for sleeping purposes shall not be permitted. Other openings between the garage and residence shall be equipped with solid wood doors not less than 1 3/8” inches in thickness, solid or honeycomb-core steel doors not less than 1 3/8” inches thick, or 20-minute fire-rated doors, equipped with self-closing and self-latching devices.Exception: Where the residence and the private garage are protected by an automatic residential fire sprinkler system in accordance with Sections R309.6 and R313, other door openings between the private garage and the residence need only be self-closing and self-latching. This exception shall not apply to rooms used for sleeping purposes.Provide the following note for duct penetrations from garage to dwelling unit.R302.5.2 Duct penetration. Ducts in the garage and ducts penetrating the walls or ceilings separating the dwelling from the garage shall be constructed of a minimum No. 26 gage (0.48mm) sheet steel or other approved material and shall have no openings into the garage.Specify clearances at the water closet in new bathroom. 2010 CPC Section 407.5 Setting. Fixtures shall be set level and in proper alignment with reference to adjacent walls. No water closet or bidet shall be set closer than fifteen (15) inches from its center to any side wall or obstruction nor closer than thirty (30) inches center to center to any similar fixture. The clear space in front of any water closet or bidet shall be not less than twelve-four (24) inches. No urinal shall be set closer than twelve (12) inches from its center to any wall or partition nor closer than twenty-four (24) inches center to center.Exception: The installation of paper dispensers or accessibility grab bars shall not be considered obstructions.Specify dimension width at shower. 2010 CPC Section 411.7 Shower compartments, regardless of shape, shall have a minimum finished interior of one thousand and twenty-four (1,024) square inches and shall also be capable of encompassing a thirty (30) inch circle. The minimum required area and dimensions shall be measured at a height equal to the top of the threshold and at a point tangent to its centerline. The area and dimensions shall be maintained to a point of not less than seventy (70) inches above the shower drain outlet with no protrusion other than the fixture valve or valves, shower head, soap dishes, shelves, and safety grab bars or rails. Fold-down seats in accessible shower stalls shall be permitted to protrude into the thirty (30) inch circle. Exceptions: 1.Showers that are designed to comply with Chapter 11A or 11B of the California Building Code. 2.The minimum required area and dimension shall not apply for a shower receptor having overall dimensions of not less than thirty (30) inches in width and sixty inches in length.3.[HCD 1-AC] Specific requirements regarding accommodations for persons with disabilities are contained in California Code of Regulations, Title 24, Part 2, Chapter 11A and/or Chapter 11B as applicable. ICC/ ANSI A117.1, Standard for Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities, does not contain the correct accessibility standards for use in California.Sheet 3 Identify carbon monoxide alarm outside the bedroom. R315.1.4 Carbon monoxide alarms shall be installed and maintained in the following locations: Outside of each separate dwelling unit sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of the bedroom(s). On every level of a dwelling unit including basements. Identify smoke detector in the bedroom/ outside the bedroom. R314.3 Location. Smoke alarms shall be installed in the following locations: In each sleeping room. Outside each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms. On each additional story of the dwelling, including basements and habitable attics buts not including crawl spaces and uninhabitable attics. In dwellings or dwelling units with split levels and without an intervening door between the adjacent levels, a smoke alarm installed on the upper level suffice for the adjacent lower level provided that the lower level is less than one full story below the upper level.Provide the following Table for plumbing fixtures (water closets) and fittings (faucets and showerheads).
