Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit 3corrected sets of plans for recheck. The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100)The valuation of improvements for the subject building permit application has been calculated to be $5000.Show on the plans:
- Complete legal description
- Assessor’s Parcel Number
- Project Address/Suite/Room Numbers; Building Numbers
- Occupancy Classification(s)
- Type of Construction
- Fire Sprinkler System if anyNote on the drawings locations and inscriptions of 50 square inch minimum size permanent plaques installed in conspicuous locations, showing the maximum permissible unit load in clear, legible print.Add note to plans indication that the area where the racks are installed is not a sales area.Provide details showing all the beam sections on plans and the type of attachment between the beam and the bracket, and between the bracket and the column. Specify the use and occupancy group of the room where the storage racks are to be located.Specify what kind of material is to be stored on the shelves; please note that based on the type of material the occupancy group of the space could be affected.Use an approved method to calculate the capacity of the slab on grade. Any method used has to be per the ACI or ASCE. ( StructuralCalcs reference ACI 318-11 ASCE 7-10) please identify which equations in the reference material is being used. The loads as shown seem to be way to high to be supported on a 4” slab.Since these racks are being moved from another location, engineer of record to provide a certification certifying that the racks are in good condition and that the weld are all done well and are in good condition. Detail 1 on S1, provide dimensions of both column and plate, in addition please show the thickness of the plate.Specify the steel specification of the steel used in the manufacturing of the storage racks.Between the plans and the hand made remarks made to the plans it is not clear what the permissible load the rack is designed for is. It is a standard practice to address loads per shelf or per cubic feet. From the hand notes it sounds that the load per shelve is 4000ib?Calcs page 4 calling the Seismic force resisting system as “Ordinary precast shear walls” these calcs are supposed to be for the rack? Please clarify. There are no clacs provided for the beams or the connectors provided.Clearly clarify your assumption as to whether the beam and base connections are fixed or pinned. Specify if there are any forklifts allowed within the space if so the posts have to be protected as stated below:Lower portions of posts exposed to damage by forklift trucks or other moving equipment shall have protective devices. If not so protected, at the option of the building official, the rack structure may: (1) be designed to maintain its full design load capacity at allowable stresses with the exposed post capacity reduced by one-half or (2) be designed to maintain its full design load capacity at 50 percent increased allowable stresses with the exposed post assumed to have no carrying capacity.Accessibility requirements : The installation of storage racks is considered a interior remodeling and hence the bathrooms serving the area of remodel and the pass of travel to the area of remodel need to be accessible. Provide detail and notations to show compliance. Below is a list of some of the items that has to be shown on the plans to show compliance.Drawings submitted to the Building Division for review shall provide the following information to insure compliance with CBC Section 1134B, Chapter 11B:

A minimum of 20% of valuation of construction is required to be spent towards providing disabled access in the priority order as noted in CBC Section 1134B. Revise the drawings to show compliance. Show both existing elements and how they will be upgraded to current standards.Indicate the height of 28” to 34” above the finish floor and knee clearance to be a minimum of 27” high, 30” wide, and 19” deep for fixed or built-in counter and tables. CBC Section 1122B of CBC.If a walk crosses or adjoins a vehicular way, and the walking surfaces are not separated by curbs, railings or other elements between the pedestrian areas and vehicular areas, the boundary between the areas shall be defined by a continuous detectable warning which is 36” wide, complying with the CBC Section 1133B.8.5.
