Recheck: 2/8/2016All drawings and supporting documents shall be prepared, stamped and signed by a California licensed structuralengineer.
Provide as built drawings to show complete framing plan of existing deck/roof for clarification load path of vertical and lateral loads.
Submit structural calculations to justify size of existing girder. (Complete existing framing plan of deck/roof is required for clarification on vertical and lateral load path)
Submit structural calculations to address additional lateral loads imposed by new structure to existing high rise building.
Reference structural calculations pages 29 and 30, provide documentations to justify the assumed concrete strength of F’c of 5Ksi.
The use of “Ty fo SCH-41”, does provides required flexural capacity to overcome the deficient existing joists, however structural calculations is required to demonstrate the existing beams is not deficient in compression as well, specifically when applying 2 layers of “Ty fo SCH-41”, to increase the tension capacity of existing beam 1 and 2.
Please note the concern is when, beam tension zone is increased with use of “Ty fo SCH-41”, than the beamcompression zone is weaken further moreand causing the beam to fail at compression zone.
Acceptance of proposed system (“Tyfo SCH-41”), is pending acceptance of Building Official. (ICC report ESR 2103 page 4). Proposed system is not accepted at this time.
Please add a note on the structural drawings that existing wall, slab and beam/s is to be x-ray to insure there is no damage to existing re-bars.
Note on the drawings all special inspection items for this project:
The structural engineer of record shall provide periodic and final inspections for all structural elements to ensure completed construction agrees with his/her design.
Other structural inspections required by the engineer or architect in responsible charge of the structural design work.
Special inspections required by ICC,ESR 2103 Research Report.

- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans

Provide as built drawings of existing office high-rise building roof deck framing where modifications are to be made for proposed new work. Dimensioned roof/deck framing is required. Reference Sheet A-6, detail #2, Provide structural calculations by California licensed structural engineer for wall mounted cable tray and indicate distance from tray to roof deck. Please note on the drawings that special inspection is required for all anchor bolts on architectural and architectural drawings.Provide X-ray note on structural drawings for deeming the location of existing rebar’s not to be damaged by anchoring system for new work. Reference Sheet S-3.1, clarify 2 hour fire rating on this page and when applicable, reference each fire rating assembly to Table 7 and item number of 2013 CBC, on the drawings.Indicate distance from exterior wall of equipment enclosure to property lines and call out the required fire rating of new walls and floor based on Table 601 and 602 of 2013 CBC.
