City of Santa Ana does not have jurisdiction to enforce ADA compliance and it is the responsibility of designer. On the drawings when applicable, remove notes referring to ADA compliance this project is reviewed for compliance with 2013 CBC. CBC Section 2407.1, Glass used as a handrail assembly or a guard section shall be constructed of either single fully tempered glass, laminated fully tempered glass or laminated heat-strengthened glass. Glazing in railing in-fill panels shall be of an approved safety glazing material that conforms to the provisions of Section 2406.1.1. For all glazing types, the minimum nominal thickness shall be ¼”. Fully tempered glass and laminated glass shall comply with Category II of CPSC 16 CFR 1201, listed in Chapter 35. See Sections 1607.7, and 2408.1 for additional comments.Glass and glazing shall be in accordance with CBC Chapter 24. Note on the drawings size and glass thickness for each panel. Artificial light shall be provided that is adequate to provide an average illumination of 10’candles (107 lux) over the area of the room at a height of 30”above the floor level. Commercial buildings and multi-family units built prior to January 1, 1994 are required to make the transition on or before January 1st 2019. As of January 1, 2014, SB 407 requires non-compliant plumbing fixtures to be replaced by water-conserving plumbing fixtures when a property is undergoing alterations or improvements as defined by the California Building Code and California Green Building Code. These codes define alterations and improvements as any construction to an existing structure which enhances or improves the structure. Construction related to repairs or maintenance of the structure is not considered to be an alteration or improvement.
