Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) - County of Orange Health Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings ((714)433-6000) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceShow on the plans: - Occupancy Classification(s) - Type of ConstructionNote on drawing: “Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.”Note on the drawings: “Maximum effort to operate doors shall not exceed 5 pounds for exterior doors and interior doors, such pull or push effort being applied at right angles to hinged doors and at the center place of sliding or folding doors. The upper approach and the lower tread of each interior stair shall be marked by a strip of clearly contrasting color at least 2” wide placed parallel to and close to (not more than 1” from) the nose of the step or landing to alert the visually impaired. The strip shall be of material that is at least as slip-resistant as the other treads of the stairs.Tactile floor designation signs shall be located at each floor level landing in all enclosed stairways in buildings two or more stories in height to identify the floor level. Requires exit signs to be readily visible from any direction of approach. No point shall be more than 100’ from the nearest visible exit sign. Tactile exit signs shall be required at the following locations: - Each grade-level exterior exit door shall be identified by a tactile exit with the word “EXIT.” - Each exit door that leads directly to a grade-level exterior exit by means of a stairway shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the following words as appropriate:“EXIT STAIR DOWN”“EXIT STAIR UP” - Each exit door that leads directly to a grade-level exterior exit by means of an exit enclosure, or an exit passageway, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.” - Each exit access door from an interior room or area to a corridor or hallway, which is required to have a visual exit sign, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.”It is the project designer’s/property owner’s responsibility to show compliance on the drawings with all applicable Federal and State Accessibility Standards.Drawings submitted to the Building Division for review shall provide the following information to insure compliance with CBC Chapter 11B: - An accessible entrance - An accessible route to the altered area - Accessible restrooms - Accessible telephone (if any) - Accessible drinking fountains, and - Parking, signage and alarmsIf a walk crosses or adjoins a vehicular way, and the walking surfaces are not separated by curbs, railings or other elements between the pedestrian areas and vehicular areas, the boundary between the areas shall be defined by a continuous detectable warning which is 36” wide. See Section 11B-247.1.2.5 of CBCProvide parking data on the site plan showing the total number of parking spaces provided, the number of disabled accessible spaces and the number of van accessible spaces, showing compliance with CBC Section 11B-208.One in every six accessible spaces, but not less than one, shall be served by an access aisle 8’-0” (96”) wide minimum and shall be designated van accessible. The words NO PARKING shall be painted on the ground within each eight’ loading and unloading access aisle. This notice shall be painted in white letters no less than 12” high and located so that it is visible to traffic enforcement officials. Are the locker room # 151, the lounge room # 157, and the training room on the second floor on an interior accessible route that can be negotiated by a person with disability using a wheelchair?Please call out the height of the counter and show compliance with chapter 11B for details 1/A301 & 6/A301 and the new counter at “Electronic Service Counter” as shown on sheet A121.These sets of plans are not showing any dimension for the counter at the pharmacy. Does this counter comply with CBC chapter 11B?Sanitary facilities serving the area of new work shall be disabled accessible. Show compliance for the restroom in the stock room.Provide completely dimensioned floor plans, elevations and sections of sanitary facility insuring wheelchair clearances complying with CBC Section 11B-604.Note on the drawings hot water and drain pipes under lavatory shall be insulated.Provide dimensions to ensurethat the bottom of the mirror is no higher than 40” from the floorin any sanitary facilities.See CBC Section 11B-604.7 and the red marks on detail 8/ACC2. Please revise the plan to show compliance. CBC Section 11B-222, Fitting and Dressing Rooms: - Where fitting or dressing rooms are provided for male or female customers, 5 percent, but never less than one, of dressing rooms for each type of use shall be accessible. - The bottom of mirrors provided for use by persons with disabilities shall not be greater than 20” from the floor. Mirrors to be used by persons with disabilities shall be full-length, measuring at least 18” wide by 54” high, and shall be mounted in a position affording a view to a person on the bench as well as to a person in a standing position per requirement of Section 11B-803.6 - Clothing hooks shall be located per requirements of Section 11B-803.5.Details 1, 2, 3, & 4 on sheet A212 shall be crossed reference to exterior wall elevation on the architectural plans. Glass and glazing shall be in accordance with CBC Chapter 24. Note on the drawings all windows and doors having glazing. Indicate the type and thickness of each light of glazing on the drawings.See other red marks on the plan. Please resubmit the marked up set with revised and updated plan for recheck.
