Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100) - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) - County of Orange Health Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings ((714)433-6000) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceShow on the plans: - Occupancy Classification(s) - Type of ConstructionPlease indicate detail and section references as to their appropriate location on plan view.Provide typical section view detail of all new partitions and ceilings showing: - Size, spacing, and material of framing members - Note gauge and ICC Research Report number and installation/construction requirements for metal framing members. - Method of attaching framing to the building structure. Compliance shall be shown with CBC Section 1607.13 for lateral support of the walls. Do not support top of walls to suspended ceiling system unless calculations and drawing prepared by a registered engineer are submitted for review. Submit structural engineering calculations for walls in rooms with a floor to building structure above height greater than 14’. - Provide on the drawings details for the lateral support of partitions, rails and similar space dividers less than 5’ 9” in height. - Heights of partition, suspended ceiling, structure above.CBC Section 1018.2.2, Exterior exit doors shall lead directly to the exit discharge or the public way.Show all the exit doors and entrances on the site plan.Provide on the drawings a complete door schedule, showing: - Door sizes (CBC Sections 1008.1.1 and 1133B.2) - Hardware complying with exiting and disabled accessibility requirements (CBC Sections 1008.1.8 and 1133B.2.5)Provide specifications for doors hardware (i.e., lever type, push-pull panic, etc) to comply with disabled access requirements. CBC Section 1133B.2.5.2.CBC Section 1133B.2.5.1, Hand-activated door opening hardware shall be centered between 30” and 44” above the floor. Latching and locking doors that are hand activated and which are in a path of travel shall be operable with a single effort by lever-type hardware, by panic bars, push-pull activating bars, or other hardware designed to provide passage without requiring the ability to grasp the opening hardware. Locked exit doors shall operate as above in egress direction.CBC Section 1133B.2.5, Note on the drawings: “Maximum effort to operate doors shall not exceed 5 pounds for exterior doors and interior doors, such pull or push effort being applied at right angles to hinged doors and at the center place of sliding or folding doors. Compensating devices or automatic door operators may be utilized to meet the above standards. When fire doors are required, the maximum effort to operate the door may be increased to the minimum allowable by the appropriate administrative authority, not to exceed 15 pounds.CBC Section 1133B.2.6, Required the bottom 10” of all doors except automatic and sliding shall have a smooth uninterrupted surface to allow the door to be opened by a wheelchair footrest without creating a trap or hazardous condition.Tactile exit signs shall be required at the following locations: - Each grade-level exterior exit door shall be identified by a tactile exit with the word “EXIT.” - Each exit door that leads directly to a grade-level exterior exit by means of a stairway or ramp shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the following words as appropriate:“EXIT STAIR DOWN”“EXIT RAMP DOWN”“EXIT STAIR UP”“EXIT RAMP UP” - Each exit door that leads directly to a grade-level exterior exit by means of an exit enclosure, or an exit passageway, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.” - Each exit access door from an interior room or area to a corridor or hallway, which is required to have a visual exit sign, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.” - Each exit door through a horizontal exit shall be identified by a sign with the words “TO EXIT.”It is the project designer’s/property owner’s responsibility to show compliance on the drawings with all applicable Federal and State Accessibility Standards.Drawings submitted to the Building Division for review shall provide the following information to insure compliance with CBC Section 1134B/Chapter 11B: - An accessible entrance - An accessible route to the altered area - Accessible restrooms - Accessible telephone (if any) - Accessible drinking fountains, and - Parking, signage and alarmsShow all the machines including lotto machine, ATM and Coinstar is in compliance with disabled access. Detail 2/A1.2.Plumbing facilities shall be provided in accordance with the California Plumbing Code (CPC) Section 412.0 and CPC Table 4-1.CBC 2013. Sanitation facility toilet room floors shall have a smooth, hard, non-absorbent surface such as Portland cement, concrete, ceramic tile or other approved material which extends upward onto the walls at least 6”. Walls within 2’ of the front and sides of urinals and water closets shall be similarly finished to a height of 4’.Provide a table on the drawings showing number of employees by gender, the number of each type of fixture required and the number of each type of fixture provided.Provide detail to show sink in the break room is in compliance with disabled access.All dining, banquet, and bar facilities shall be made accessible to persons with disabilities as provided in CBC 2013. At least 5%, but not less than one of the seating spaces in each functional area is accessible as follows: - Provide a minimum 30” x 48” wheelchair clear floor space. - Provide knee space at tables at least 27” high, 30” wide and 19” deep. - Provide height of tables between 28” – 34” from the floor ground. - Provide access to accessible seating space(s) by aisles with a minimum of 36” in width.CBC Section 1110B.1.3, Check Stands CBC Table 11B-2: (IF there is any Check stand upgrade) NUMBER OF REGULARNUMBER TO BE CHECKSTANDSACCESSIBLE 1 to 41 5 to 82 9 to 153 Over 153 plus 20% of additional aisles - In new and existing construction, accessible check stands shall provide a clear checkout aisle width of 36” with a maximum adjoining counter height not exceeding 38” above the finish floor. - The top of the counter lip shall not exceed 40” above the finish floor. - Accessible check stands shall always be open to customers with disabilities and shall be identified by a sign clearly visible to those in wheelchairs. The sign shall display the international symbol of accessibility in white on a blue background and shall state “This check stand to be open at all times for customers with disabilities.”Complete the attached Disabled Accessibility Documentation Form.Provide on the drawings a complete window schedule showing: - Window sizes - Type and thickness of glazing (type of safety glazing for hazardous locations noted under CBC Section 2406.3The reflected ceiling plan and details must show compliance with CBC Sections 711.3.1, 803, 1613, and 1705 (special inspection) for suspended ceiling systems.Provide structural calculations and drawings, stamped and signed by a California licensed architect or registered civil engineer for: - Storage racks over 8’ high - New mechanical equipment on roof (note on Roof Framing Plan weight of each existing and new piece of equipment on the roof) - Structural support of shaft(s) and/or hood(s) Note on the drawings weight of the hood.For low wall on detail 2/S1.1 provide type of the stud, spacing and how it is being supported laterally.Provide ICC report for metal studs and ceiling joists.Detail A/S1.1 is it 5’ high wall or 8’ wall, provide metal stud size and spacing on detail A/S1.1.Show location footing and width of the footing from detail A/S1.1. on the plan view.Provide span table and ICC report for metal studs.Show clearance at the check cashing area ( Aisle width)Show entrance to Deli service.Provide elevation to show bullet resistant glass at check cashing and provide detail how it is supported laterally.Show how wall between Type I hoods, sheet S1.2 is being supported laterally.Please clarify soffit on D/S1.2 is existing or new.
