Please call (714) 647-5862 for an appointment.The drawings/information submitted for Building Safety Division review is incomplete. The applicant shall, prior to resubmitting, complete all construction documents to show compliance with the 2013 California Building Standards Code with local amendments.Provide a roof framing plan, show all the framing sizes, locations and their loading. Show all the equipment on the framing plan with their total load. Provide and submit structural calculation that is clear, legible and organized to show the loads (live and dead loads) on this beam before removing the column. (Submitted plan is incomplete.)Provide shear and moment diagrams for the GLB impacted before and after removal of the column. Check the shear and bending stress of the GLB before and after removing the column.Justify existing columns and their footing that will be impacted as the result of removing this column.Justify the bearing limit of the existing GLB beam on the existing bearing plate of each column after removing one column.The engineer or architect in responsible charge of the structural design work shall include in the construction documents the following:
- Structural tests and inspections required by CBC Chapter 17.
- Inspection and observation program. When special inspection isrequired by Section 1704, the architect or engineer of record shall prepare an inspection program that shall besubmitted to the building official for approval prior to issuance of the building permit.
- The special inspector shall be employed by the owner, the engineer, or architect of record, or an agent of the owner, but not the contractor or any other person responsible for the work.
- The inspection program shall include samples of inspection reports and provide time limits for submission of reports.
- The structural engineer of record shall provide periodic and final inspections for all structural elements to ensure completed construction agrees with his/her design. Plan check stopped due to above items. Please resubmit the plans back for recheck only when the above items are completed.
