The applicant shall, prior to resubmitting, complete all construction documents to show compliance with the 2013 California Building Standards Code with local amendments.Clearly indicate the scope of work under this building permit application: - Revise project job description on the building permit application worksheet to reflect the work to be done under the subject building permit application. - Construction drawings must clearly show all work to be done under the subject building permit application. - Delete all notes and details from drawings that are not a part of the work to be done under the subject building permit application. This includes mechanical, plumbing and electrical work that is not specifically required by the Building Code.CBC Sections A106.1 and A106.3.4.1, All drawings and supporting documents shall be prepared, stamped and signed by a California licensed architect or registered civil engineer.All persons preparing plans, specifications, and instruments of service for others shall sign those plans, specifications and other instruments of service for others shall sign those plans, specifications and other instruments of service and all contracts therefore. This correction list indicates specific areas of Title 24, Part 2 which are applicable to your project. Please be aware that the owner(s) of this building and his/her consultants are responsible for compliance with the most current Federal Regulations contained in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Fair Housing Act (FHA). Where the ADA & FHA requirements exceed those contained in Title 24, Part 2, it is the owners responsibility and consultants to ensure compliance with the most current ADA & FHA regulations, as the City of Santa Ana is not delegated the authority to plan review or inspect projects for ADA & FHA compliance. NOTE: Code references are to the 2013 edition of the California Building Code with July 1, 2015 Supplement D. GENERAL SITE AND BUILDING ELEMENTS PARKING SPACES Where parking spaces are provided, accessible parking spaces shall be provided in number and kind required perSection 11B-208 Parking Spaces.§11B-208.1 Provide ONE accessible parking spaces as required by Table 11B-208.2. §11B-208.2 (See exceptions) One in every six or fraction of six parking spacesrequired by Section 11B-208.2 Minimum Number, butnot less than one, shall be served by an access aisle 8-foot wide minimum placed on the side oppositethe driver’s side when the vehicle is going forward intothe parking space and shall be designated “vanaccessible”. All such spaces may be grouped on onelevel of a parking structure. §11B-208.2.4, 11B-502, Fig 11B-502, 11B-502.3, & 11B-502.3.3 Dimension minimum 18-foot long car and vanaccessible parking space(s) and access aisle(s). §11B-502.2, Figures 11B-502.2 and 11B-502.3 Dimension minimum 12-foot wide accessible vanparking space with minimum 5-foot wide access aisle.Van parking spaces shall be permitted to be minimum 9feet wide where access aisle is 8-foot wide minimum.§11B-502.2, Figures 11B-502.2 and 11B-502.3 Access aisles shall be marked with a blue paintedborderline around their perimeter. The area within theblue borderlines shall be marked with hatched lines amaximum of 36 inches on center in a color contrastingwith that of the aisle surface, preferably blue or white.The words "NO PARKING" shall be painted on thesurface within each access aisle in white letters aminimum of 12 inches in height and located to bevisible from the adjacent vehicular way. Access aislemarkings may extend beyond the minimum requiredlength. §11B-502.3.3, Figure 11B-502.3.3 Access aisles shall not overlap the vehicular way.Access aisles shall be permitted to be placed on eitherside of the parking space except for van parking spaceswhich shall have access aisles located on thepassenger side of the parking spaces. §11B-502.3.4 Clearly show minimum vertical clearance of 8 feet 2inches at accessible parking spaces and along at leastone vehicle access route to such spaces from siteentrances and exits. §11B-502.5 Parking space identification signs shall include theInternational Symbol of Accessibility complying withSection 11B-703.7.2.1 International Symbol ofAccessibility. §11B-502.6, Figure 11B-703.7.2.1 Signs identifying van parking spaces shall containadditional language or an additional sign with thedesignation “van accessible.” Signs shall be 60 inchesminimum above the finish floor or ground surfacemeasured to the bottom of the sign. §11B-502.6 Parking identification signs shall be reflectorized with aminimum area of 70 square inches. §11B-502.6.1 Additional language or an additional sign below theInternational Symbol of Accessibility shall state“Minimum Fine $250.” §11B-502.6.2 A parking space identification sign shall be visible fromeach parking space. Signs shall be permanently postedeither immediately adjacent to the parking space orwithin the projected parking space width at the headend of the parking space. Signs may also bepermanently posted on a wall at the interior end of theparking space. §11B-502.6.3 Each accessible car and van space shall have surfaceidentification complying with either of the followingschemes: §11B-502.6.4 The parking space shall be marked with an International Symbol of Accessibility complying with Section 11B-703.7.2.1 International Symbol of Accessibility in white on a blue background a minimum 36 inches wide by 36 inches high. The centerline of the International Symbol of Accessibility shall be a maximum of 6 inches from the centerline of the parking space, its sides parallel to the length of the parking space and its lower corner at, or lower side aligned with, the end of the parking space length. §11B-502.6.4.1 The parking space shall be outlined or painted blueand shall be marked with an International Symbol ofAccessibility complying with Section 11B-703.7.2.1International Symbol of Accessibility a minimum 36inches wide by 36 inches high in white or a suitablecontrasting color. The centerline of the InternationalSymbol of Accessibility shall be a maximum of 6inches from the centerline of the parking space, itssides parallel to the length of the parking space andits lower corner at, or lower side aligned with, theend of the parking space. §11B-502.6.4.2 An additional sign shall be posted either; 1) in aconspicuous place at each entrance to an off-streetparking facility or 2) immediately adjacent to on-siteaccessible parking and visible from each parkingspace. §11B-502.8 The additional sign shall not be less than 17 inches wide by 22 inches high. §11B-502.8.1 The additional sign shall clearly state in letters with aminimum height of 1 inch the following: §11B-502.8.2 "Unauthorized vehicles parked in designated accessible spaces not displaying distinguishing placards or special license plates issued for persons with disabilities will be towed away at the owner’s expense. Towed vehicles may be reclaimed by telephoning The Santa Ana Police Department at (714) 245-8665. CVC 22658a." RELATIONSHIP TO ACCESSIBLE ROUTES Parking spaces and access aisles shall be designed so that persons using them are not required to travel behind parking spaces other than to pass behind the parking space in which they parked. §11B-502.7.1 A curb or wheel stop shall be provided if required to prevent encroachment of vehicles over the required clear width of adjacent accessible routes. §11B-502.7.2
