If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. Separate plans, applications, fees, plan checks, and permits are required for mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler systems, and electrical work. Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance: - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100) - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuance Specify the type of material to be stored on the shelves. These plans need to be checked by the fire department for high pile stock and determining the maximum amount of hazmat material that could be stored on the shelves. Base on the material stored please justify if the warehouse is an S1 or an S2 occupancy. Show location of all exit doors in the warehouse. Show location of all bathrooms serving the area of remodel, all accessible parking and the path of travel from the accessible parking to the area of remodel. Identify on plans the location of the different types of racks. Dimension the distances between the racks. Specify on plans the maximum load on type E racks. Provide a detail to show the size kind and thickness of the bracket that braces the rack to the wall. Also, provide a detail of the connection of the bracket to the wall and to the rack. Make sure to specify the type of material the wall is made off. For racks over 12 ft. high or over 3,000 sq. ft. in area, or a unit load over 2,500 lbs. and no multiple stacking on top shelf. Note on the plans "The rack design loads will be posted on a 50 sq. in plaque, showing the maximum unit load and/or uniform load per level, the average unit load, and maximum load per bay. The unit load is usually a single pallet or container and its contents mechanically transported. It is the owner's responsibility to insure the rack system is not altered to invalidate the plaque." (Rack Manufacturers Institute Sec. 1.4.2) Please specify the current use of the space where the racks are being proposed. Note on the plans "Upon any visible damage, the pertinent portions of the rack shall be unloaded immediately by the user and the damaged portion shall be adequately repaired or replaced." (Rack Manufacturers Institute Sec. 1.4.9) Clarify the section properties for the column, include the perforations. Note on the drawings locations and inscriptions of 50 square inch minimum size permanent plaques installed in conspicuous locations, showing the maximum permissible unit load in clear, legible print. Load application and rack configuration drawings shall be furnished with each rack installation. The drawings shall present the permissible configurations or limitations as to the maximum number of shelves or rails, the maximum distance between them, and the maximum distance from the floor to the bottom shelf or rail. Check for combined tension plus shear on the anchors. Verify the anchor capacity and if special inspection is required for the anchors. Provide structural calcs per ACI to justify the pull out capacity of the hilti bolts. Specify the thickness of the base plate in inches on plans.
