Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance: - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceState Division of Occupational Safety Permit (Cal/OSHA) (939-0145). A Cal/OSHA permit is required for: - Construction of trenches or excavations which are 5‘or deeper and into which a person is required to descend. - The construction or demolition of any building, structure, false-work, or scaffolding more than three stories high or the equivalent height.The calculations provided are for the foundation only; please provide Lateral and vertical load analysis that addresses the dead load of the wheel and the lateral loads due to seismic and wind on the Ferris wheel.Provide an analysis to show the distribution of the loads to the elements supporting the wheel to the ground. Provide structural analysis for the steel members connecting the Ferris wheel to the foundation; this includes the steel plates, posts and connections.The geotechnical report addresses the use of pad footings; there is no recommendation for deep footing. In addition, the geotechnical report provide specific recommendations for the preparation of the soil to support the footing. Please provide proper information on the plans to show compliance with the soil’s engineer recommendations.Provide complete structural calcs for the masonry structure.( out of plane bending)Provide two rebars at the top block below the sill plate.Specify on the plans if the trusses are going to be deferred or otherwise provide copies of the truss calcs. Provide details that show how the ramp is being built; provide details of all retaining walls.Clarify how a person can transfer from a wheel chair to the seal on the ride, is there a transfer seat?Please make sure this project complies with the accessibility requirements of Division 10 of the CBC.Show/provide an accessible path from an accessible parking, and public way to the Ferris wheel.Clarify if the bathrooms serving this new ride are accessible, show on plans.Please se section 11B-1002.4.4.1 for the size requirements of the wheelchair space.Openings providing entry to wheelchair spaces shall be 32 inches minimum.The wheel chair space next to the Ferris cart shall be able to maneuver such that one side shall adjoin an accessible rout when in the load and unload position.Where the interior seat width of the amusement ride is greater than 53 inches, a companion seatshall be provided for each wheelchair space.Provide details and notes to show at least one method for the transfer of persons in a wheel chair to the amusement cart.Wheel chair access.Transfer seat per section 11B-1002.5.1Or , Transfer device per section 1002.6
