If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. Separate plans, applications, fees, plan checks, and permits are required for mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler systems, and electrical work. Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance: - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)\Provide detailed structural calcs for all different rack types and loading. Clarify which storage rack is which on the floor plans. Please clarify how you intend to label the racks on site to ensure the loading on the different levels and different racks is per the plans. Labe the location where the racks are as not open to the public otherwise design for 1.5 importance factor. Provide complete structural analysis for all the racks, this set of calcs submitted with this plans only includes the lighter rack with 1300 lb. Special emphasis should be on the heavier rack with 8000 lb loading. This plan needs approval from the fire department. As the slab is usually not designed or constructed to support load in bending, any intention to utilize the slab in bending and shear need to be properly justified with detailed analysis. The analysis should show the size and location of the rebars in the slab, method or documents used to verify the rebar locations etc. Please specify the current and proposed use of the space, document if this is a change of use or occupancy or if it is not, on the plans. Note on the plans "The owner shall maintain the structural integrity by assuring proper operation, a. housekeeping, and maintenance of the racks by: b. Prohibiting overloading the rack system. c. Regularly inspecting for damage. d. Maintaining all pallets in a good, safe condition. e. Ensuring pallets are properly placed. f. All goods are placed on the pallets. g. Prohibiting pallet double-stacking unless the rack is designed for this. (Rack Manufacturers Institute Sec. 1.4.1) Note on the plans "Upon any visible damage, the pertinent portions of the rack shall be unloaded immediately by the user and the damaged portion shall be adequately repaired or replaced." (Rack Manufacturers Institute Sec. 1.4.9) Use an approved method to calculate the capacity of the slab on grade. Any method used has to be per the ACI or ASCE.Specify the steel specification of the steel used in the manufacturing of the storage racks.
