Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit corrected sets of plans.Meetings between the project applicant/designer and the plan reviewer shall be by appointment only. Please call (714) 647-5848 for an appointment. This review does not include mechanical, plumbing or electrical work. Separate plans, applications, fees, plan checks, and permits are required for mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work. Call 647-5800 for information. The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following, prior to building permit issuance: -Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804). Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. -Public Works Agency approval (647-5039). -Proof of Worker's Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuance. Specify the type of construction and occupancy group on the plans. Please comply with the requirements of section 3111 of the California Building code. Provide notes on plans to show compliance with the marking requirements specified in section 3111.2 The array needs to be designed so that it is a maximum of 150 ft by 150 ft. dimension array on the plans. Identify the roof access points on he plans. Roof access points shall be located in areas that do not require the placement of ground ladders over openings; such as windows or doors. Access points shall be a minimum of 3 feet wide from ridge to hip. Access points shall be located at structurally strong locations capable of supporting the live load of fire fighters. Panels shall be located no higher than 3 feet below the ridge. There shall be a minimum of 6 feet wide clear perimeter around the edges of the roof. Provide 4 feet designated pathways to ventilation hatches per section 3111.4.3.2. Identify all skylights and any roof access hatches on the plans. All pathways shall be shown to support the weight of the fire fighters and their equipment. This design assumes that the original building is designed for a 20lb per square foot live load. Please note, based on the span of the beams, the live load could have been reduced in the design. Unless the 20lb per foot could be justified, the assumption should be using the lower reducible load when comparing the load of the panels to the supposedly designed load. Please ensure in your design assumption or justification that he weight of the fire fighters at the access points is taken into consideration. From the pictures provide, there is a large cantilever at the edge of the roof for the entire length of the building. 1) the section shown on the plans does not show the cantilevered portion, 2) the structural calcs need to address the cantilevered portion. Please, provide a framing plan showing the size of the framing members. And justify that the exiting cantilevered roof can support the applied live and dead load.
