A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit 3 corrected sets of plans. (When meeting is needed) Meetings between the project applicant/designer and the plan reviewer shall be by appointment only.  Please call (714) 647-5831 for an appointment.This review does not include electrical work.  Separate plans, applications, fees, plan checks, and permits are required for electrical work.  Call 714-647-5800 for information. The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance: - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.)  Previously approved plans     should be submitted to expedite the process. -  Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings (714-573-6108) -  Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) Grading Permit. Application is made through the Building Safety Division (647-5800) and the plan review is by the Public Works Agency (647-5039.) -  Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required.State Division of Occupational Safety Permit (Cal/OSHA) (939-0145).  A Cal/OSHA permit is required for: -  Construction of trenches or excavations which are 5‘or deeper and into which a person is required to descend. -  The construction or demolition of any building, structure, false-work, or scaffolding more than three stories    high or the equivalent height.Provide pedestrian protection in accordance with CBC Section 3306.  Show location and type of protection on plan view.  Provide typical construction details, sections, and elevations of pedestrian protection required.  Pedestrian protection constructed within a public right of way shall require a building permit issued by the Building Safety Division and a separate approval from the City’s Public Works Agency (714) 647-5039. Geotechnical report to be signed and stamped by geotechnical engineer prior re -submittal. Reference page 8 of geotechnical technical report Section 7.0, Provide a note on the drawings that “representative is to be present at the site to provide appropriate observation and testing by geotechnical engineer” based on report recommendations.  Note on the foundation plan "Prior to requesting a Building Safety Division foundation inspection”, the geotechnical engineer shall inspect and approve the foundation excavations. Also have the geotechnical engineer review and approve the foundation plans. (Section 1803 of 2013 CBC)Reference sheets 4 of geotechnical report and page structural calculations for SP signs,  Section 6.1 of geotechnical report  calls for minimum width of 10’-0” footing width, however calculations 4’-0” diameter, clarify and revise calculations to follow geotechnical report recommendations. Reference sheets 4 of geotechnical report and page 48 of structural calculations for signs 4, 5, 8 & 9. Section 6.1 of geotechnical report calls for minimum width of 25’-0” footing width; however a calculation on page 48 is shown the footing width of 16’-0”. Please clarify and revise calculations to follow geotechnical report recommendations.Reference sheets 4 & 5 of geotechnical report and page 2 of structural calculations for signs 4, 5, 8 & 9 clarify discrepancy between geotechnical report and in structural calculations. Revise structural drawings to reflect designed value and recommended value based of geotechnical and structural calculations.Reference SP Monument sign and Signs 4, 5, 8 & 9, Revise general notes on the drawings to reflect geotechnical recommended for soil’slateral bearing.Revise drawings for each sign to show material specifications for structural steel (Pipe, steel, angle, bolts anchor bolts and reinforcing steel) to match structural calculations designed values.
