All items noted on this plan check report must be addressed. If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit 3corrected sets of plans.Meetings between the project applicant/designer and the plan reviewer shall be by appointment only. Please call (714) 647-5862 for an appointment.Please return marked up set of drawings with corrections.The drawings/information submitted for Building Safety Division review is incomplete. The applicant shall, prior to resubmitting, complete all construction documents to show compliance with the 2010 California Building Standards Code with local amendments.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Orange County Fire Authority approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100)
- Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)
- County of Orange Health Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings ((714)433-6000)
- Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceThe location of the proposed new Vaults on sheet A0.006-S shall be fixed with proper dimensions with respect to existing building walls. Also, the physical sizes of these vaults to be clearly noted on the drawings.( Seems like the dimensions are: 12’ X5’ X 11’- 2” per detail 16/S4.003)Part of these vaults is under the existing Fire Lane, structural calc. shall take this loading into design of the vaults. On sheet A0.006-S, note # S38 refers to detail 3/S4.001 for additional information. This detail does not apply to this“New Elec. Equipment”.Structural calculation provided for shoring of existing 2nd floor is missing the following items:Second floor DL.Second floor LL.Dead load of the wall at the edge of the second floor.Span of the existing 2nd floor framing and span of cantilever section.Missing blocking between existing T.J. at the location of new beam. Provide structural calculation for design of grade beams shown on sheet S2.112. The size and reinforcement to be clearly called out on the drawings.Sheet S2.112 shows these grade beams are stopped at the pad footings. This may be a drafting issue that needs to be corrected. Also, detail 10/S3.001 referenced on sheet S2.112 does not show the grade beam.The dimensions of the proposed “condensate recovery pit” shall be called out on the drawings. See red marks on sheet S2.128.The equipment summary on sheet M9 of the calculation does not match the equipment layout on sheet S2.128.All the terms of the Equation 13.3-1 of ASCE 7-10 which is shown on sheet M9 of calculations shall be clearly addressed and the value of Fpfrom this equation to be checked with min Fp of Equation 13.3-3 of ASCE 7-10. (Min Fp = 0.3Sds . Ip. Wp)For 10’ high roof screen, calculation sheet M92, provide justification that existing roof framing can resist 3750 # of compression and tension reaction loads. The connector “HU610TF” CANNOT RESIST THE UPLIFT LOADs in the configuration provided on the drawings. There is no ledger or a header to be connected to this “HU610TF”.For existing “ Open Web Girder at line “F” and between lines “3” & “4”, provide calculation for existing moment and shear capacities; and after the 18,350# of equipment is placed on it. Seems like existing moment is M = (12+12)( 61’ +50.33’)/2 X ( 52 X 52 /8) = 451,555 # Ib. And the moment due to proposed equipment is: M = 18,385 X (52’ /4) = 239,005 # Ib. This shows an increase of 52.9%. Sheet A3.100-S does not call out the physical dimensions for the storage rack in H-4 room.A key plan must be provided for the structural members designed on all pages of calculations so that the calculations and plans may be correlated.See red marks on the following sheets of drawings: A0.006-S, A3.100-S, A3.300-S, S1.001, S2.112, S2.128, S2.312, S2.328, S2.512, S2.528, S2.612, S3.001, S4.001, S4.002, & S4.003. Also, see other red marks on the calculation.
