The recheck of your drawings was completed this morning, 05-15-2018; and the following items from the first plan check list are not done/ completed. See the list below for items # 6, 7, & 8.
For item # 7, please provide Panic Hardware for door # 101. Per Section 1010.1.10 of CBC, this door is serving a room with 50 or more occupants in a group A occupancy.
For item # 9, provide tempered glazing for any glazing adjacent to a doorwhere the nearest vertical edge of the glazing is within a 24-inch arc of either vertical edge of the door in closed position and where the bottom exposed edge of the glazing is less than 60 inches above the walking surface. The keynote # 21 on sheet TA8.1 does not meet the requirements of CBC Section 2406.4.2.

If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Orange County Fire Authority approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100)
- Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)
- County of Orange Health Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings ((714)433-6000)
- Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuancePanic hardware shall comply with CBC Section 1010.1.10. Panic hardware shall be provided as required by CBC for all doors serving the proposed “A-2” occupancy. Show compliance on the door schedule.Regardless of the occupant load, there shall be a floor or landing on each side of a door. The floor or landing shall be not more than ½” lower than the threshold of the doorway. Change in level between ¼” and ½” shall be beveled with a slope no greater than 1:2. Details 5/L0.02 shall be referenced to the proposed new entry door.Show compliance with CBC Section 2406.4.2 for existingglazing adjacent to proposed new entry door. See detail 18/TA8.1For proposed dining area show compliance with CBC Section 11B-226 for at least 5% of the proposed seating. See sheet TA3.1.Show compliance with CalGreen code Section 5.407.2.2.1 for the proposed new exterior entry door. See drawing sheet TA0.1.Note on the drawings: Hand-activated door opening hardware shall be centered between 34” and 44” above the floor. Latching and locking doors that are hand activated and which are in a path of travel shall be operable with a single effort by lever-type hardware, by panic bars, push-pull activating bars, or other hardware designed to provide passage without requiring the ability to grasp the opening hardware. .CBC Section 11B-307.4, for area under the proposed stair with headroom clearance of less than 80”, provide a barrier to warn a visually impaired person.CBC Section 11B-405.7.5, Encroachment of doors. Doors in any position shall not reduce the minimum dimension of the landing to less than 42” and shall not reduce the required width by more than 3” when fully open. Show compliance for proposed new entry door and the ramp on detail 1/L1.01.Ramps shall have handrail on both sides, CBC Section 1012. Drawing shows railing on one side per detail 1L1.01.Notes on the drawings: Requires means of egress from all occupied parts of the building be provided with at least 1’ candle of light at floor level. Show compliance on the drawings.For detail A/TS1.04, please clarify the “HSS post” thickness.See other red marks on the drawings. Please resubmit the marked up set with new drawings for recheck.
