Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance: - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceThe North-west portion of the second floor, between lines “1” through “4” and “A” through “E”, does not have exiting system complying with CBC Section 1006.2.1 requirements. If this space is unoccupied at this time, please note this item on the drawing and this has to be corrected with the future TI plan.Exiting from any occupied point in a building or structure on the subject site must be continuous, unobstructed, and undiminished to a public way. Show compliance for proposed new door # 101 on the drawings.When corridor walls are required to be of one-hour fire-resistive construction, every interior door opening shall be protected by a tight-fitting smoke-and-draft-control assembly having a fire-protection rating of not less than 20 minutes. Doors shall be maintained self-closing or shall be automatic closing by actuation of a smoke detector. Smoke-and-draft-control door assemblies shall be provided with a gasket so installed as to provide a seal where the door meets the stop on both sides and across the top.Please update the door schedule to show compliance for doors # 204 & 205.Show compliance with CBC Section 11B-404.2.6 for proposed new doors # 204 & 205 into proposed new vestibule.CBC Section 1005.7.1. Doors, when fully opened shall not reduce the required egress width by more than 7”. Doors in any position shall not reduce the required width by more than one-half. Show compliance for door # 205. See Detail 4/A.23.Provide on the drawings a complete door schedule, showing: - Door sizes (See red mark on door schedule) - Fire-rating of door assembly - Note smoke seal, required for doors forming part of the one-hour exit corridor envelopeCBC Section 1010.1.2.1, Exit doors shall swing in the direction of exit travel when serving an occupant load of 50 or more.Show compliance for proposed doors # 201 & 202.Regardless of the occupant load, there shall be a floor or landing on each side of a door. The floor or landing shall be not more than ½” lower than the threshold of the doorway. Change in level between ¼” and ½” shall be beveled with a slope no greater than 1:2. Change in level greater than ½” shall be accomplished by means of a ramp. Provide detailed sections and plan views showing compliance at proposed door # 101.Every required exit doorway shall be of a size as to permit the installation of a door not less than 3’ in width and not less than 6’ 8” in height. Please update the door schedule for door # 101.Note on the drawings: “Maximum effort to operate doors shall not exceed 5 pounds for exterior doors and interior doors, such pull or push effort being applied at right angles to hinged doors and at the center place of sliding or folding doors. CBC Section 1008, Requires means of egress from all occupied parts of the building be provided with at least 1’ candle of light at floor level. Show compliance on the drawings.Tactile exit signs shall be required at the following locations: - Each grade-level exterior exit door shall be identified by a tactile exit with the word “EXIT.” - Each exit door that leads directly to a grade-level exterior exit by means of a stairway or ramp shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the following words as appropriate:“EXIT STAIR DOWN”“EXIT RAMP DOWN”“EXIT STAIR UP”“EXIT RAMP UP” - Each exit door that leads directly to a grade-level exterior exit by means of an exit enclosure, or an exit passageway, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.” - Each exit access door from an interior room or area to a corridor or hallway, which is required to have a visual exit sign, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.”Glass and glazing shall be in accordance with CBC Chapter 24. Note on the drawings all windows and doors having glazing.
