Note on the Floor Plan, type and quantity of hazardous material in each control area and fire-resistive rating for fire barriers.On the drawings, indicate material name to be stored on the racks.Occupancies using hazardous materials are subject to special requirements. It is the applicant’s/owner’s responsibility, PRIOR TO SUBMITTAL, to make this known to the Building, Planning and Fire Departments (OCFA). When there has been a change in use or occupancy classifications, drawings shall show compliance with the CBC requirements for the new classifications. Reference CBC Section 3406.Indicate spacing between racks on the drawings.Every portion of every building in which is installed seatmerchandise, equipment, or similar materials shall be provided with aisles leading to an exit. Every aisle shall not be less than 36” wide if serving only one side, and not less than 44” wide if serving both sides.Steel storage racks and their anchorage, where the importance factor is equal to 1.5 inaccordance with Section 15.5.3 of ASCE 7.CBC Section 1707.6, Storage racks and access floors. The drawings shall present the permissible configurations or limitations as to the maximum number of shelves or rails, the maximum distance between them, and the maximum distance from the floor to the bottom shelf or rail.The bottom of all posts shall be furnished with bearing plates. Drive-in, drive-through, and stacker racks shall be anchored to the floor by anchor bolts capable of resisting the horizontal shear forces caused by the horizontal and vertical loads on the rack.
