Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)
- Grading Permit. Application is made through the Building Safety Division (647-5800) and the plan review is by
the Public Works Agency (647-5039)
- School District Compliance Certificate; a copy of the building permit application, signed by the plan check
engineer, shall be required by the School District to verify the scope of work. Refer to the attached handout.
- Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceProvide pedestrian protection in accordance with CBC Section 3306. Show location and type of protection on plan view. Provide typical construction details, sections, and elevations of pedestrian protection required. Pedestrian protection constructed within a public right of way shall require a building permit issued by the Building Safety Division and a separate approval from the City’s Public Works Agency (714) 647-5039.This item is not done at this time. On the site plan, please denote the type and extension of the pedestrian protection.Provide the following:
- Provide a fully dimensioned site plan on each set of plans.
- Disabled access compliance must be shown on the site plan.Detail 9/A5.0 show only one of the ramp handrail has extension of top. This does not comply with CBC Section 11B-505.10.1
- The “SITE MAP” provided on sheet CS1.0 is not to scale and is too small.Provide fire blocking in concealed spaces of stud walls and partitions, including furred spaces at the ceiling and floor level and at 10 ft. intervals both vertical and horizontal.Fire blocking shall be installed within concealed spaces of exterior wall finish and other exterior architectural. See red marks on the drawings.Provide on the drawings interior wall and ceiling finish schedule showing compliance with CBC Section 803 and CBC Table 803.11.Provide complete details on the drawings showing compliance with CBC Section 1405 requirements for veneer construction.Exiting from any occupied point in a building or structure on the subject site must be continuous, unobstructed, and undiminished to a public way. This includes gates which must show compliance with CDB Section 1010. The floor or landing at each side of an exit door shall be level and having a length in the direction of the door swing of at least 60” and the length opposite the direction of door swing of 44” as measured at right angles to the plane of the door in the closed position.Provide construction detail to show compliance on the drawings.Hand-activated door opening hardware shall be centered between 34” and 44” above the floor. Latching and locking doors that are hand activated and which are in a path of travel shall be operable with a single effort by lever-type hardware, by panic bars, push-pull activating bars, or other hardware designed to provide passage without requiring the ability to grasp the opening hardware. Note #3 under “DOOR NOTES” on sheet CS2.0 shall be update to show compliance.CBC Section 1008.2.1, Requires means of egress from all occupied parts of the building be provided with at least 1’ candle of light at floor level. Show compliance on the drawings.It is the project designer’s/property owner’s responsibility to show compliance on the drawings with all applicable Federal and State Accessibility Standards.Sidewalks accommodating the disabled must be at least forty-eight inches (48”) wide and at least sixty inches (60”) where door swings over walk.Provide construction detail to show compliance on the drawings.Walks and sidewalks shall have a continuous common surface, not interrupted by steps or abrupt changes in level. Surfaces shall be slip resistant. Provide construction detail to show compliance on the drawings.If a walk crosses or adjoins a vehicular way, and the walking surfaces are not separated by curbs, railings or other elements between the pedestrian areas and vehicular areas, the boundary between the areas shall be defined by a continuous detectable warning which is 36” wide, complying with the CBC Section 11B-247. Provide construction detail to show compliance on the drawings.CBC Section 11B-208. Accessible parking spaces serving a particular building shall be located on the shortest accessible route of travel from adjacent parking to an accessible entrance.Show compliance on the drawings.Provide parking data on the site plan showing the total number of parking spaces provided, the number of disabled accessible spaces and the number of van accessible spaces, showing compliance with CBC Section 11B-208 and Table 11B-208.2.Parking spaces must be located so that the disabled are not compelled to walk or wheel behind parked cars other than their own. Provide construction detail to show compliance on the drawings.CBC Section 11B208.2.4. One in every six accessible spaces, but not less than one, shall be served by an access aisle 8’-0” (96”) wide minimum and shall be designated van accessible. Show compliance on the drawings.Plumbing facilities shall be provided in accordance with the California Plumbing Code (CPC) Section 412.0 and CPC Table 4-1. Show compliance on the drawings.Provide completely dimensioned floor plans, elevations and sections of sanitary facility insuring wheelchair clearances complying with CBC Section 11B-604 and the California Plumbing Code.This building is subject to the State of California Energy Conservation Regulations:This item is not done at this time.
- The permit applicant shall be responsible for obtaining an energy plan check from a consultant who is
qualified to perform an energy efficiency analysis in accordance with the California Code of Regulations
(CCR,) Title 24, Par 6, 2016 California Energy Code. The plan check consultant must sign documentation
certifying that a thorough, competent review has been performed on behalf of the Enforcement Agency.
- The corrected/final ARCHITECTURAL drawings shall have the required energy efficiency compliance
documentation with completed signature blocks filed on the plans. The same information may be copied on
the Electrical Plans for the Electrical Plan Checker.
- The energy plan check consultant must complete the attached “Energy Conservation Plan Check Consultant
Qualification Statement.”
- Refer to the attached information sheet.Provide structural calculations and drawings, stamped and signed by a California licensed architect or registered civil engineer for:
- provide calculation for the footings to resist the tension forces at the end of shear walls.Provide calculation to justify that footing can resist the uplift load of 11,163 # per calc. sheet 35.
- New mechanical equipment on roof.Provide clear construction details and show the result of the calculation for lateral load resisting system. Detail 11/S5 is not clear.
- New equipment screening on roof if required by City of Santa Ana Planning Division.
- Canopy. This item is not done at this time.
- Trash Enclosure..Provide clear construction details and show the result of the calculation on the drawings.
- provide positive attachment of the RTU to roof framing members for vertical and lateral loads.See above Each shear wall segment shall be evaluated for up left and the designed holdown shall be detailed on the drawings. Justify the 48” spacing of #4 ties for details 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,.. On sheet S4.Please call out shear wall edge nailing for the details on sheets S4 and BN for details on sheet S5.Construction documents shall show the size, section and relative locations of structural members with floor levels, column centers and offsets dimensioned. The design loads and other information pertinent to the structural design required by CBC and shall be indicated on the construction documents.A key plan must be provided for the structural members designed on all pages of calculations so that the calculations and plans may be correlated.See red marks on sheets CS1.0, CS2.0, A1.0, A2.0, A4.0, A4.1, A5.0, A5.1, A6.0, S1, S3, S4, & S6.
