Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (714-647-5840) - Public Works Agency approval (714-647-5039) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuance It is the project designer’s/property owner’s responsibility to show compliance on the drawings with all applicable Federal and State Accessibility Standards. City of Santa Ana does not have jurisdiction to enforce ADA compliance and it is the responsibility of designer. Remove notes referring to ADA compliance. This project is reviewed for,2016 California Building code (CBC).Complete the attached Disabled Accessibility Documentation Form and add that this permit is for selective voluntary accessibility compliance as note on drawings scope of work for site accessibility signage, parking and path of travel to entrance door only. Also update the scope of work on the drawings and if applicable provide a copy of Consultant report or remove note on the drawings. Please clarify on scope of work if entrance doors, path of travel from public bus stop, path of travel between buildings is part of this voluntary accessibility compliance.Show location of entrance to each building on the drawings to review complete path of travel from accessible parking space to main entrance of each building. remove concrete groves on path of travel and maintain truncated dome where separating the vehicle hazardous area. For Building E, Sheet A2.5, relocate van accessible parking space as close as possible to main entrance of building.Provide complete architectural Section for existing and existing stairs, including tread warning, handrail and show compliance with Section11B-405 and 11B-504 of 2016 CBC.Label walkways and ramp separately on the drawings. Show handrail, handrail extension, top, bottom landing and cross slop. Walkways are considered as ramp when slope is 1:20 (5%) or more.Walks and sidewalks shall not have cross slopes exceeding ¼” per foot (2% slope). Slopes along the path of travel shall not exceed 5% unless designed as a pedestrian ramp.Accessible parking spaces shall be located closest to the accessible entrances.Parking spaces must be located so that the disabled are not compelled to walk or wheel behind parked cars other than their own.compliance with CBC Division 5. Including the followings: Show slope of accessible parking and landing aisle with 2% slop in any direction. Drawings to show the words NO PARKING shall be painted on the ground within each loading and unloading access aisle. This notice shall be painted in white letters no less than 12” high and located so that it is visible to traffic enforcement officials. In each parking area, a bumper or curb shall be provided and located to prevent encroachment of cars over the required width of walkways (account for front of car overhang). Revise walkways to have 48” minimum width. When a walk crosses or adjoins a vehicular way, and the walking surfaces are not separated by curbs, railings or other elements between the pedestrian areas and vehicular areas, the boundary between the areas shall be defined by a continuous detectable warning which is 36” wide, complying with the CBC Section 704 of 2016 CBC. Only approved Division of the State Architect, Access Compliance (DSA/AC) approved.Path of travel incorporated all elements from the exterior arrival site to remodeled area.At every entrance and at every major junction along or leading to an accessible route of travel, there shall be a sign displaying the international symbol of accessibility. Signs shall indicate the direction to accessible building entrances and facilities When more than one building or facility is located on a site, accessible routes of travel shall be provided between buildings and accessible site facilities.The accessible route of travel shall be the most practical direct route between accessible building entrances, accessible site facilities, and the accessible entrance to the site.
