A recheck of your drawings was completed this morning, 05/07/2019; and the following items from the first plan check are not completed/ done at this time. See the list below for comments for item # 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, &11.

CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDMENTS
All items noted on this plan check report must be addressed. If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit 2corrected sets of plans.Meetings between the project applicant/designer and the plan reviewer shall be by appointment only. Please call (714) 647-5862 for an appointment.Please return marked up set of drawings with corrections.This item is not done as of 05/07/2019. The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- County of Orange Health Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings ((714)433-6000)
- School District Compliance Certificate; a copy of the building permit application, signed by the plan check
engineer, shall be required by the School District to verify the scope of work. Refer to the attached handout.
- Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceProvide pedestrian protection in accordance with CBC Section 3306. Show location and type of protection on plan view. Provide typical construction details, sections, and elevations of pedestrian protection required. Pedestrian protection constructed within a public right of way shall require a building permit issued by the Building Safety Division and a separate approval from the City’s Public Works Agency (714) 647-5039.This item is not done as of 05/07/2019. Pedestrian protection is required for the propose canopy on the North side. Please check with the Public Works Agency to see if there is an exception to this requirement.Provide a large scale dimensioned site plan on each set of plans and call out the distance from the edge of this canopy to the east property line. Show compliance with CBC Sections 705.8 and 602.4.Please show compliance with CBC Section 705.8 for proposed openings located on the East side of the structure. Per Table 705.8 of CBC the area of openings on East side is limited to 10% of the elevation of canopy on this side.Show on the plans:
- provide a floor plan and show the seating under the proposed canopy area.
- Occupancy Classification(s)For occupancy classification, please provide the floor plan of existing restaurant plus the proposed seating under this canopy to ensure that the combined occupant loads will remain below 50 for a “B” occupancy.
- Type of ConstructionThe type of construction for the existing structure is “VB”. Please make a clear note on the drawings for this item.Counters where food or drink is served shall show compliance with the following:This item is not done as of 05/07/2019.
- show compliance with CBC Sections 11B-226 & 11B-902 for the dinning surfaces under proposed canopy area.
- Top of counter is between 28” – 34” above the finish floor.
- Knee clearance to be a minimum 27” high, 30” wide, and 19” deep.
- Clear floor space a minimum of 30” by 48”.
- Clear floor space adjoins an accessible route.See red marks on the following sheets of drawings:sheet 1, 2, 5, & 6.Red marks on sheets 1, 2, & 6 are not responded at this time, 05/07/2019.
