Specify the total number of accessible parking spaces provided on the site plan. One in every six or fraction of six parking spaces required by Section 11B-208.2 Minimum Number, but not less than one, shall be served by an access aisle 8-foot wide minimum placed on the side opposite the driver’s side when the vehicle is going forward into the parking space and shall be designated “van accessible”. All such spaces may be grouped on one level of a parking structure. §11B-208.2.4, 11B-502, Fig 11B-502, 11B-502.3, & 11B-502.3.3. Specify the proposed accessible van parking and existing accessible van parking space location.Detectable warnings at curb ramps and at hazardous vehicular areas shall extend 36 inches in the direction of travel. Specify dimension on the site plan.Use a dash line or dotted line to show Path of Travel from accessible aisle to entrance of the building. Path of travel shall consist the following technical requirements:
Path of travel shall consist of one or more of the following components: walking surfaces with a running slope not steeper than 1:20 (5%), doorways, ramps, curb ramps excluding the flared sides, elevators, and platform lifts. §11B-402.2
The running slope of walking surfaces shall not be steeper than 1:20 (5%). The cross slope of walking surfaces shall not be steeper than 1:48 (2.083%). §11B-403.3
The clear width for sidewalks and walks shall be 48 inches minimum. §11B-403.5.1 exception 3Per keynote #5, handrail shop drawing shall be reviewed and approved prior to issuance of building permit.Show standard parking striping where the existing accessible parking spaces were removed.Sheet C7.0Detail 3: Detectable warning surfaces shall be yellow and approximate FS33538 of Federal Standard 595C.
