The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following, prior to building permit issuance: -Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804). Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. -Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840). Sheet T-01: Occupancy group – Please revise occupancy group to specify R-2 for apartment buildings. Sheet A-01: Exit stairways shall be placed at a distance apart equal to not less than one-half of the length of the maximum overall diagonal dimension of the building. Please revise plan accordingly. (CBC 1007.1.1) Guardrails detail: Openings in handrails and guardrails – please revise note to delete note stating “or larger”. The opening shall not allow the passage of a 4” sphere diameter at the guardrails. Stair riser and tread: Please revise plan to provide 7” maximum risers and 11” minimum treads. (CBC 1011.5.2) On the plan, please show top and bottom landing – show dimensions (48” minimum). Please show handrail extensions at top and bottom of stairway. 12” horizontally at top landing and 12” plus tread depth. Similar to figure below:
