If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Please return marked up set of drawings with corrections.This review does not include mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler system, or electrical work. Separate plans, applications, fees, plan checks, and permits are required for mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler systems, and electrical work. Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.

- County of Orange Health Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings ((714)433-6000)Sheet A0.0. Show all property lines of record on the site plan.Provide enlarged, dimensioned and partial site plan. On this plan, identify the accessible path of travel, complying with CBC 11B-202. The following accessible path of travel is required:One accessible path of travel from the public street to the accessible entrance of the tenant space.One accessible path of travel from the nearest accessible parking space to the accessible entrance of the tenant space.The running slope of walking surfaces shall not be steeper than 1:20 (5%). The cross slope of walking surfaces shall not be steeper than 1:48 (2.083%). §11B-403.3The clear width for sidewalks and walks shall be 48 inches minimum.Primary accessible path of travel shall include a primary entrance to the building or facility; toilet and bathing facilities serving the area; drinking fountains serving the area; public telephones serving the area, and signs. §11B-202.4In choosing which accessible elements to provide, priority should be given to those elements that will provide the greatest access in the following order: (1) an accessible entrance; (2) an accessible route to the altered area; (3) at least one accessible restroom for each sex or a single accessible unisex restroom;(4) accessible telephones; (5) accessible drinking fountains; and (6) when possible, additional accessible elements such as parking, signs, storage and alarms. §11B-202.4Fill out the disabled access compliance documentation form and show proposed design, detail and location of improvement in compliance with accessibility requirements along the accessible path of travel in accordance with CBC Section 11B-202.Sheet A-1. Provide tactile exit signage and identify locations on floor plan. Include sign elevation and typical signage text per CBC Section 1013.1 shall comply with CBC Sections 11B-703.1, 11B-703.2,11B-703.3, and 11B-703.5. (CBC 11B- 216.4.1) at the main exit door #1. Show signage location on the floor plan AND tactile sign detail.Note on plans: “Egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort.”Note on plans: Doors equipped with a key operated locking device shall have a readily visible, durable sign posted on the egress side adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall have one-inch high letters on a contrasting background.Note on the plans: “Exit signs shall be internally or externally illuminated at all times and shall be connected to an emergency power system (batteries, unit equipment or an on-site generator) that will automatically illuminate the exit signs for a duration of not less than 90 minutes.”Sheet A-1. In existing Building and facilities, all building entrances that are accessible to and usable by persons with disabilities and at every major junction along or leading to an accessible route of travel shall be identified with a sign displaying the International Symbol of Accessibility complying with Section 11B-703.7.2.1, and with additional directional signs complying with Section CBC 11B-703.5, as required, at junction when the accessible route diverges from the regular circulation path. (CBC 11B-216.6)Sheet A-1. Maneuvering clearances for forward approach shall be provided when any obstruction within 18 inches of the latch side an interior doorway. Revise door #3 on the pull side in the storage room to provide 18” maneuvering clearance.Sheet A-1. Provide 12” maneuvering clearances on the push side of the door #1 in the storage room where the door is equipped with latch and closer.Handles, pulls, latches, locks, and other operable parts on doors and gates shall comply with 11B-309.4 Operation. Operable parts of such hardware shall be 34 inches minimum and 44 inches maximum above the finish floor or ground. Where sliding doors are in the fully open position, operating hardware shall be exposed and usable from both sides. §11B-404.2.7
The force for pushing or pulling open a door or gate other than fire doors shall be as follows: §11B-404.2.9
a. Interior hinged doors and gates: 5 pounds maximum.
b. Sliding or folding doors: 5 pounds maximum.
c. Required fire doors: the minimum opening force allowable by the appropriate administrative authority, not to exceed 15 pounds.d. Exterior hinged doors: 5 pounds maximum.Swinging door and gate surfaces within 10 inches of the finish floor or ground measured vertically shall have a smooth surface on the push side extending the full width of the door or gate. Parts creating horizontal or vertical joints in these surfaces shall be within 1/16 inch of the same plane as the other and be free of sharp or abrasive edges. Cavities created by added kick plates shall be capped. §11B-404.2.10Sheet A-1. Provide one accessible seating space on plan (CBC 11B-226.1) AND the dining table shall comply with 11B-902 as follows:A clear floor space complying with 11B-305 positioned for a forward approach shall be provided.Knee and toe clearance complying with 11B-306 shall be provided.The tops of dining surfaces shall be 28” minimum and 34” maximum above finish floor.Sheet A-1. Provide accessible counter at the pickup area. A portion of the counter surface that is 36” long minimum and 34” maximum above the finish floor shall be provided (11B-904.4.1).Sheet A-1. The minimum 32” clear opening shall be provided between order counter and the new partition. (11B-404.2).Sheet A-1. Show 60 inches minimum clearance around a water closet, measured perpendicular from the sidewall.Sheet A3.1. Revise ADA restroom elevations. Toilet paper dispensers shall comply with Section 11B-309.4 Operation and shall be 7 inches minimum and 9 inches maximum in front of the water closet measured to the centerline of the dispenser. The outlet of the dispenser shall be below the grab bar, 19 inches minimum above the finish floor and shall not be located behind the grab bars.Entrances leading to toilet rooms and bathing rooms complying with 11B-603 Toilet and Bathing Rooms shall be identified by a geometric symbol complying with 11B-703.7.2.6 Toilet and Bathing Room Geometric Symbols. Provide restroom signage detail on plan.Sheet A4. Detail 4. Show 24” wood panel in the partition wall and provide detail to design the lateral support around the panels to support minimum 5 psf lateral force. Specify the metal tracks and fasteners attached to the wall on plan.Refer to additional plan check comments on plan.
