Please call (714) 647-5830 for an appointment.Sheet S-1Provide scope of work and description on this project. It appears some words are missing on the Geotechnical Investigation note number 2 and 3.On the title sheet, specify the shoring system as a deferred submittal. The Engineer On Record shall review the shop drawing of the shoring system.Sheet S-2.1Per phone conversation with the structuralengineer and plan-check engineer on December 3, 2020, provide additional excavation-sequence note regarding the exterior wall’s footing-support during the initial four-foot deep excavation. Portions of the exterior-wall footing should be supported at the cut slots, so that the concrete-footing beam does not span more than approximately 4 feet. Given this tilt-up building was built with a classic tilt-up construction method (one footing between two wall panels), additional bearing support should be considered at the footing locations.Sheet S3.1On the north-south partial building section drawing, the excavation depth is below the natural water table. The geotechnical engineer recommends a de-watering system on page 3 of the report. The drawing indicates a “possible” de-watering system. It appears the decision of placing a de-watering system will be based on the actual condition of the site during evacuation. The general contractor shall notify the Engineer on record should the excavation encounters the water table. The engineer on record shall design and approve the de-watering system to ensure the safety of the building shoring.
