There may be additional requirements when complete construction drawings and supporting data is submitted for Building Safety Division review.
The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following, prior to building permit issuance:
-Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804). Previously
approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process.
-Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840).
-Public Works Agency approval (647-5039).
Sheet A-2:
For clarity, please using different wall legend to show wall separating between main house and new ADU.
Wall between two living units shall be protected with a minimum one-hour fire-rated wall. Please clearly show on plan and provide construction detail and clearly cross-reference detail onto the plan.
Light, ventilation and emergency egress window for ADU bedroom: to consider the closet hallway be part of the bedroom and obtaining light and ventilation from window 9, the opening between bedroom and hallway shall be minimum 50% of the bedroom. please relocate the closet to the inside wall of the bedroom (adjacent to the fireplace wall).
Door 12: Glazing located in door and within 24” of door shall be tempered glass.
Note on plan: Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing were not part of this approval and will be subject to field inspection.
Sheet A-3:
Wall between two living units shall be protected with one-hour wall. Please revise detail to show one-hour wall assembly.
Please provide/show wall insulation for wall between two units.
