If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Please return marked up set of drawings with corrections.This review does not include mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler system, or electrical work. Separate plans, applications, fees, plan checks, and permits are required for mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler systems, and electrical work. Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100)
- Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)
Sheet A-1.0. Note #102. Provide wall construction detail to fill out the corridor wall. Specify in the wall assembly whether the corridor wall is fire-rated.
Sheet A-1.0 and AN-6.0. At the new door (210.04) leading to the corridor, it appears the door will reduce the required width by more than 7”. Recessed door at the corridor may be needed. Doors, when fully opened, and handrails shall not reduce the required width by more than 7”. Doors in any position also shall not reduce the required width by more than one-half. CBC Section 1005.7.1.
Sheet A-1.0. Note the following on the plans: “The means of egress, including the exit discharge, will be illuminated to a level of not less than one foot-candle at the walking surface at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied”.
Sheet A-1.0. Note on the plans: “Exit signs shall be internally or externally illuminated at all times and shall be connected to an emergency power system (batteries, unit equipment or an on-site generator) that will automatically illuminate the exit signs for a duration of not less than 90 minutes.” Sheet A-1.0. Door #210.01 and #210.04 equipped with a key operated locking device shall have a readily visible, durable sign posted on the egress side adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall have one-inch high letters on a contrasting background.
