Separate plans, applications, fees, plan checks, and permits are required for mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler systems, and electrical work. Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)
- School District Compliance Certificate; a copy of the building permit application, signed by the plan check
engineer, shall be required by the School District to verify the scope of work. Refer to the attached handout.Sheet A-2. Please make dimensions in detail 3/A-2 clear. The numbers are not legible.Sheet A-2. Detail 11. The attachment of the 3/16” plate shall be onto the wood floor instead of concrete. Please correct the detail and show attachment method to the wood floor.Sheet A-2. Detail 13 and 14. Correct the CMU copping detail. When the only elevators provided for use by the public and employees are combination passenger and freight elevators, they shall comply with 11B-407 Elevators and with ASME A17.1. (11B-407.1), (11B-407.1.1)”.Add note to plan that “Call buttons shall have square shoulders, be ¾ inch minimum in the smallest dimension and shall be raised ⅛ inch plus or minus 1/32 inch above the surrounding surface. The buttons shall be activated by a mechanical motion that is detectable. (11B-407.2.1.2)”.Add note to plan that “The visible signal elements shall be a minimum 2½ inches high by 2½ inches wide. Signals shall be visible from the floor area adjacent to the hall call button. (11B-407.2.2.2), Figure 11B-407.2.2.2”Add note to plan that” Emergency two-way communication systems shall comply with 11B-308 Reach Ranges. Raised symbols or characters, white on a black background, and Braille shall be provided adjacent to the device and shall comply with 11B-703.2 Raised Characters and 11B-703.3 Braille. Emergency two-way communication systems between the elevator and a point outside the hoistway shall comply with ASME A17.1. (11B-407.4.9)”Sheet A-2. Detail 1. Revise maximum height of the button from 54” to 48” above the finish floor. (11B-407.4.6.1).STRUCTURALSubmit 2 copies of the structural calculation. (Only one copy submitted). The cover page of the structural calculation shall be stamped, dated and signed by the licensed engineer.
