Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Orange County Fire Authority approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039) - Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuanceProvide the following: - Provide a fully dimensioned site plan on each set of plans. - Disabled access compliance must be shown on the site plan.City records note the type of building construction as IIA under a previous/ code edition. Please note type of construction on drawing based on the 2016 California Building Code.Sheet “A-0.01” shall be updated to show compliance.Provide and show on these drawings smoke alarms in compliance with CBC Sections 907.2.10.3 & 907.2.11.1.Provide and show on these drawings carbon monoxide detection in compliance with CBC Sections 915.1.1 & 915.1.4.Elevators. In order to be considered part of an accessible means of egress, an elevator shall comply with the emergency operation and signaling device requirements of ASME A17.1. Provide a clear notes on the drawings that existing elevators in this building do comply with the requirements of CBC Sections 11B-206.6 and 11B-407. For the new thermostat in accessible guest rooms, show compliance with CBC Section 11B-308.1.1.It is the project designer’s/property owner’s responsibility to show compliance on the drawings with all applicable Federal and State Accessibility Standards.Drawings submitted to the Building Division for review shall provide the following information to insure compliance with CBC Section 11B-202.4: - An accessible entrance - An accessible route to the altered area - Accessible restrooms - Accessible telephone (if any) - Accessible drinking fountains, and - Parking, signage and alarmsIf a walk crosses or adjoins a vehicular way, and the walking surfaces are not separated by curbs, railings or other elements between the pedestrian areas and vehicular areas, the boundary between the areas shall be defined by a continuous detectable warning which is 36” wide, complying with the CBC Section 11B-247.Accessible parking spaces serving a particular building shall be located on the shortest accessible route of travel from adjacent parking to an accessible entrance. CBC Table 11B-208.2 establishes the number of accessible parking spaces required. Revise sheet “A0.01” of the drawings to show at least6disabled accessible parking spaces including1van accessible spaces.CBC Section 11B-502.7.1, Parking spaces must be located so that the disabled are not compelled to walk or wheel behind parked cars other than their own.One in every six accessible spaces, but not less than one, shall be served by an access aisle 8’-0” (96”) wide minimum and shall be designated van accessible.Revise the drawings to show the words NO PARKING shall be painted on the ground within each loading and unloading access aisle. This notice shall be painted in white letters no less than 12” high and located so that it is visible to traffic enforcement officials. Vehicular access to parking spaces for disabled shall have a minimum vertical clearance of 8’-2” (98”). Passenger loading zones and vehicular access to same shall have a minimum vertical clearance of 9’-6” (114”).See other red marks on the drawings. Please resubmit the marked up set with new and revised drawings for recheck.
