All items noted on this plan check report must be addressed. If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)
- Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuance.Add note , Fire sprinkler as deferred submittal on the drawings.Blade sign referenced on sheet S02.01 is not part of this permitProvide the following:
- Disabled access compliance must be shown on the site plan.On path of travel please show if there is any curb ramp. If there is please show compliance with accessibility to include dimension , slopes , truncated dome,…Label and note hourly fire rating of:

- Each grade-level exterior exit door shall be identified by a tactile exit with the word “EXIT.”
- Each exit door that leads directly to a grade-level exterior exit by means of a stairway or ramp shall be
identified by a tactile exit sign with the following words as appropriate:
- Each exit door that leads directly to a grade-level exterior exit by means of an exit enclosure, or an exit
passageway, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.”
- Each exit access door from an interior room or area to a corridor or hallway, which is required to have a visual
exit sign, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.”
- Each exit door through a horizontal exit shall be identified by a sign with the words “TO EXIT.”Drawings submitted to the Building Division for review shall provide the following information to insure compliance with CBC Section 11B-202.4:
- An accessible entrance
- An accessible route to the altered area
- Accessible restrooms
- Accessible telephone (if any)
- Accessible drinking fountains, and
- Parking, signage and alarmsIf a walk crosses or adjoins a vehicular way, and the walking surfaces are not separated by curbs, railings or other elements between the pedestrian areas and vehicular areas, the boundary between the areas shall be defined by a continuous detectable warning which is 36” wide, complying with the CBC Section 11B-247.1.2.5.CBC Section 11B-406.5.3. Curb ramps shall comply with CBC Section 11B-406. A level landing 4’ deep shall be provided at the upper end of each curb ramp over its full width to permit safe egress from the ramp surface, or the slope of the fanned or flared sides of the curb ramp shall not exceed 1 unit vertical to 12 units horizontal (8.33% slope).CBC Section 11B-208.2.4. One in every six accessible spaces, but not less than one, shall be served by an access aisle 8’-0” (96”) wide minimum and shall be designated van accessible as required by Section 11B-502 The words NO PARKING shall be painted on the ground within each eight’ loading and unloading access aisle. This notice shall be painted in white letters no less than 12” high and located so that it is visible to traffic enforcement officials. Provide complete grab bar details on the drawings showing compliance with CBC Section 11B- 604.5including structural strength to support a 250 pound point load.CBC Section 11B-403.5.1Every portion of every building in which are installed seats, tables, merchandise, equipment, or similar materials shall be provided with aisles leading to an exit. Every aisle shall not be less than 36” wide if serving only one side, and not less than 44” wide if serving both sides.Complete the attached Disabled Accessibility Documentation Form.Tenant improvements in the Main Place Mall shall show compliance with the following special provisions and CBC Section 402:
- CBC Section 106.3. Tenant improvements at 2800 North Main, Main Place Mall, shall show compliance with
“Code Analysis and Fire Protection and Life Safety Concept” prepared by Code Consultants Incorporated,
dated “Revised February 18, 1986, and February 22, 1990 (1991 Mall Expansion).”
- Note on drawings: Duct and smoke removal system modification is not allowed and shall be in compliance
with the “Code Analysis and Fire Protection and Life Safety Concept.”CBC Section 402.12, Security grilles and doors. Horizontal sliding or vertical security grilles or doors, which are part of a required means of egress, shall conform to the following:
- They must remain secured in the full open position during the period of occupancy by the general public.
- Doors or grilles shall not be brought to the closed position when there are more than 10 persons occupying
spaces served by a single exit or 50 persons occupying spaces served by more than one exit.
- The doors or grilles shall be openable from within without the use of any special knowledge or effort when the
space is occupied.
- Note on Drawings: Post a legible sign at security grill/door closing controls stating “Security grill/door shall
remain secured in the full open position during the period of occupancy by the general public.”Provide structural calculations and drawings, stamped and signed by a California licensed architect or registered civil engineer for:
- For the bulk head beam,-all the store front beams.On ceiling plans shows Gypsum board ceiling , provide complete framing plan with engineering calculation and detail for gypsum board ceiling.Show height of the columns on sheet S02.01Detail C/A11.3, show how hanger wire attached to structure above.Detail C/ A12.3 referenced on sheet A04.1 is crossed out , please revisit.Show how soffit on detail B/S02.01 attached to bulk head.
To pick up the marked –up plan, please contact the plancheck engineer for pick up appointment. To resubmit your drawings , you may drop them off Mon – Thurs from 9:00 am to 12 pm at the South east entrance of the city hall.
