Instruction and approval
All items noted on this plan check report must be addressed. If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit 2corrected sets of plans.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)Plan review Comments:2nd Review Comment: No response to the review comments. Plan recheck cannot proceed. Please provide a written response to each of the plan review comments below clearly indicate where the correction is made. Please provide two complete sets of plans; each set shall be stapled together. Sign shop drawing shall be legible. Please increase font size and use larger paper size. Sign shop drawings shall be stamped, signed and dated by a California registered civil / structural engineer. Structural plan by RE engineering: Plans shall be legible. Please increase font size and use larger paper size. Structural plans by RE Reverence Engineering and plans by YJ Inc. shall be consistent (match) – please coordinate and revise details accordingly. Structural calculation provided was incomplete. Please provide calculation for the following: Provide calculation for connection/attachment between electronic display sign cabinets to the structural support frames. Structural support frames calculation: Could not locate input of sign dead loads. Please design sign support frames for vertical loads. Existing wall and wall stub: Please provide calculation and detail for out-of-plane loads. State all assumption. Since the sign is not flush with the building wall, wind pressure could build up behind the sign and create lateral force acting from behind of the sign. Please check existing wall and wall studs for the wind force acting behind the large sign.Provide calculation for the W8x21 columns. Provide foundation calculation. Please show new footing in relative to existing wall footing. New footing shall not create surcharge loads onto the adjacent building wall and/or foundation, including existing adjacent retaining wall where occurred.Provide site plan to show where new footing will be provided. Show all adjacent buildings and retaining wall. Plan was incomplete. Plan review will continue at time of resubmittal. Additional plan check fee and comment may be required. Please contact plan check engineer to discuss.
