Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039). Sheet A-0: On the plan, please specify occupancy groups (R-2 / S-2). On the plan, please clearly specify the proposed seismic force-resisting system. Structural Observation Program: Please complete the Declaration By Owner by provide signatures and date. Please provide engineering evaluation report with finding and recommendation for the proposed retrofit. Sheet A-1 & A-2: For clarity, please provide Title Block for the floor plans (First Level; Second Level). Sheet S-1: 4”x1/4” PL – Please clarify what is the abbreviation of “PL”. Is it 4” x 1/4” steel strap plate? Please clarify on plan. Please clarify what is “SCC” abbreviation. On the plan, please provide existing floor diaphragm specification. State all assumption. Sheet SD-1: Detail 9: Please provide calculation and details to show shear transfer of diaphragm loads to steel column. Detail 9, 10, 12: Please revise details to show the A35 connected to the solid blockings or floor joists; attached to plywood appeared insufficient. Detail 10 & 12: Please revise detail to show transfer of lateral loads from second floor wall to floor diaphragm to shear wall below. Structural calculation: Irregularities: The seismic forces shall be increased 25% for the following elements of the seismic force-resisting system: Connections of diaphragms to vertical elements and to collectors Collectors and their connections, including connections to vertical elements, of the seismic force-resisting system. Please revise calculation and plan as necessary. Calculation: Load path – please specify existing diaphragm specification. Steel Cantilevered columns modeled in Risa: The column should be model individual (single post) and fixed at bottom. Please revise calculation and plan accordingly. It’s appeared that transfer of diaphragm loads into two steel columns would be unfeasible (insufficient). Steel moment frame(s) or additional cantilever columns are required.
