The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following, prior to building permit issuance:
-Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804). Previously
approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039).
Sheet A-0:
City of Santa Ana does not adopt or using LABC Chapter 93 for seismic upgrade – Please omit/delete all notes that made reference to the LABC Chapter 93. Apply to all sheets.
Sheet SD-1:
Detail 16: Please revise detail to show transfer of lateral loads from 2nd floor wall to floor diaphragm.
Detail 9: Please provide calculation and details to show shear transfer of diaphragm loads to steel column. The shear force will be concentrated at the steel column and will make a transfer from the 4x block and metal trap to the steel column. Please justify the connection is capable of transferring lateral loads to the column.
Detail 9, 10, 12: Details have not been revised. The A35 connected to plywood appeared insufficient. Please coordinate and revise details accordingly.
Foundation: Footing under column – Please provide footing on all sides of the column to avoid eccentric loading to the foundation/footing.
Detail A & 1 on sheet SD-1: A larger column base plate and footing are recommended (space out anchor bolts). On the plan, please specify plate size and enlarged footing at column.
Detail 2/SD-1: Please provide continuous longitudinal dowels (rebar) from the grade beam to the footing below the plate.
