All items noted on this plan check report must be addressed. If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Please return marked up set of drawings with corrections.This review does not include mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler system, or electrical work. Separate plans, applications, fees, plan checks, and permits are required for mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler systems, and electrical work. Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)Cover sheet. Revise type of construction to type VB.Per plan, demising walls are placed to separate an existing suite into two new smaller suites. If new suite is created, please contact Planning Division to (1) clarify the scope, (2) obtain approval and new address for the new suite.Building permit is required for tenant improvement on both new suites and demising wall. Prior to resubmit plans for correction recheck, please contact both assigned planner and assigned permit staff to schedule an appointment to apply new building permits and receive plan check submittals.On the cover sheet, clarify the scope of work to provide complete work description for all permits. On each drawing. Show suite number in the project address on the title block. If multiple building permits share the same submitted plans, the address shall include all suite numbers related to each different permit.On the cover sheet, show occupancy group, square footage of each new suite and the square footage of the existing suite prior to being divided into two.Sheet A-0.5B. Provide tactile sign on the egress side of the door #200. Each exit access door from an interior room or area to a corridor or hallway, which is required to have a visual exit sign, shall be identified by a tactile exit sign with the words “EXIT ROUTE.”Sheet A-0.5B.Note the following on the plans: “The means of egress, including the exit discharge, will be illuminated to a level of not less than one foot-candle at the walking surface at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied”.Note on the plans: “Exit signs shall be internally or externally illuminated at all times. Externally illuminated exit signs shall be connected to an emergency power system (batteries, unit equipment or an on-site generator) that will automatically illuminate the exit signs for a duration of not less than 90 minutes in case of primary power loss.”Sheet A-0.5A. Please clarify and verify if the existing path of travel is fully comply with 2019 CBC chapter 11B. If yes, provide a statement, signed and dated by the license architect in record, that the licensed architect in record has inspected and certified the existing path of travel is fully comply with 2019 CBC chapter 11B. If not, clearly indicate the elements and details to be upgraded on the drawings. In addition, fill out the “Disable access compliance form” to indicate the upgrades.Sheet A-0.5A1. Please clarify what is the proposed construction on the site and provide correct detail referenced (e.g. note D, detail 19/-?)Sheet A-0.5A1. Show accessible path of travel on plan.Detail 3.
