It is recommended to review and apply ‘Yes’ where actually applicable, any items noted ‘Yes’ will require submittal to be reviewed and approved by the Fire Department. (e.g. Item 2. ADU, verify if existing house has fire sprinklers or if fire sprinklers are going to be added, if so please check ‘Yes’, otherwise ‘No’). Please resubmit revised SFR form or confirm if original to be used. Fire rated floor-ceiling and wall assemblies shall extend to and be tight against the exterior wall, and wall assemblies shall extend from the foundation to the underside of the roof sheathing. Provide details on the plans. (R302.3 CRC) 18 Walls separating dwelling units shall provide airborne sound insulation for walls with an STC rating of at least 50 per. Provide details on plans and provide verification of a tested assembly to achieve the required STC rating of 50. 19 Provide existing Storage Laundry remodel scope. 20 Provide new smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm in new dwelling unit per 2019 CRC Chapter 3. 21 Provide and locate exhaust fan in bathroom in new dwelling unit. 22 Provide bathroom fixture dimensions and ensure all requirements are met per 2019 California Plumbing Code. 23 A-3 Verify and specify if new shingles are required for patio revision. Or confirm existing shingles will remain with new patio framing. 24 P-1 Low beam does not match structural, coordinate with structural. 25 Provide framing detail around new skylight. 26 Provide manufacturer and ICC report for new skylight. 27 SN-1 Coordinate concrete strength with Architectural, sheet A-1 shows 4500 psi concrete. 28 S-1 New slab on grade to be doweled into existing foundation and slab on grade on all sides. Calculations: Comment # Page Comment 1 3-6 Recommended load duration factor for normal loading is 1.0 per 2018 NDS. Justify 1.25 duration factor or revise calculations. 2 4 Beam B1 does not match drawings. Please update sheet S-2 to match calculations or revise calculation accordingly. 3 8 Response modification factor R used for cantilevered timer members = 1.5. Justify use of R=6.5 in calculations or revise calculations. Also, provide clarification of patio lateral system and moment distribution at base or through frame. If moment is applied at base, provide calculation for connection and foundation with moment demand.
