- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)Sheet A-001. Clarify type of construction on plan (VB?). The structural design shows wood framed exterior wall may not meet type IIIB construction.In addition, the fire-rating requirements on the parapet shall also comply with Table 601 and table 602 based on the location of the imaginary lot line. If the imaginary lot line is placed in the middle between building 1, building 2 and this building, the fire separation distance (FSD) is between 10 and 30 feet. Per Table 602, 1-hour rated parapet is required for type IIIB or 0-hour rated parapet for type VB.Sheet A-001. Clarify occupancy group on the cover sheet in accordance with 2019 CBC chapter 3. The S occupancy shall be classified either S1 or S2 per storage material. Per floor plan, I do not see where the Storage occupancy applies. Identify all features with details that will be altered to bring into current compliance with (CBC 11B-202.4)Entrances, exits and paths of travel – entrances, limit threshold = ½” max.; level area 60” in direction of door swing, 48” opposite door swing, 24”(exterior)/18”(interior) jamb clearance; bottom 10” of door to be smooth, uninterrupted surface, etc. (CBC 11B-404.2.5, 11B-404.2.4, Table 11B-404.2.4.1, 11B-404.2.10)Fill out the disabled access compliance documentation form. Clarify in the form and on plan if the existing accessible path of travel fully or partially complies with 2019 CBC and show if any proposed design, detail and location of improvement in compliance with accessibility requirements along the accessible path of travel in accordance with CBC Section 11B-202. Note: Return the filled form at the next plan check submittal.STRUCTURALThe cover page of the structural calculation shall be signed by the engineer who stamps the calculation. (2) Copies of calculation are required. Update project address on the structural calculation cover page to “1359 N Santiago Street and building #3”. Provide page number in the structural calculation.Provide connection design for the new sintered stone ventilated façade attached to the new exterior wall. Provide attachment details and calculation to justify the design.Provide structural design, calculation, framing and connection details for the new Awning. They are not part of the scope. (See architectural roof plan)In structural calculation for 48” parapet wall design:Call out specification and spacing for all wood members including wall, bracing and sill. Check diagonal bracing per unsupported length.Specify fastener and the connections to the roof framing.Revise detail for to design the parapet connection to the existing CMU exterior wall below.Submit new fasade wall structural calculation to design the framing, anchorage and footing to support gravity and lateral force.Clarify if the following details apply to this project and provide following in Detail 1 and 2/SD1.0:Provide specification and ICC number for the CFS studs.Provide wind calculation for components and cladding to design the 8 feet tall parapet. Specify the bracing member specification and space. Provide design to support the most critical out-of-plane lateral force.Provide design and detail to support the lateral in-plane force on the new CFS wall.Provide connection design and detail at the bottom of the metal stud to transfer the design load to the building frame and to the foundation.Design and detail the connection of CFS kicker to L-Plate. Design and specify the CFS studs on plan for both parapet wall and furred walls. Call out specification, spacing and attachment on plan.Specify L-Plate.Air gap between CFS studs and CFS stud to A-frame on detail 1/SD1.0 and 2/SD1.0 to be consistent.
