Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance: - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)Provide proposed floor plan in addition to demo/existing floor plan. Show dimension of the new opening width on the proposed floor plan.Revise demo plan legend and plan to match the scope. For example, the description shows new partition construction which is not part of the scope.Provide specifications for the new glazed door and new fixed windows. Show dimensions, type, energy performance (SHGC, U-factor, VT value) and elevations.Steps are not allowed on the required landing (Two steps occurs at the new door). Revise design to comply with stairway requirements:The new glazed door shall be accessible and useable. All doors require a level floor landing on each side in accordance with CBC Sections 1010.1.5, 1010.1.6, 1010.1.7, 11B-404.2.4.4and 11B-404.2.5 and CBC Figures 11B-404.2.4.1 and 11B-404.2.4.2. Provide typical door threshold details and details of change in floor covering material.Revise design to provide required exterior door landing (steps are not permitted as door landing). All doors require a level floor landing on each side in accordance with CBC Sections 1010.1.5, 1010.1.6, 1010.1.7, 11B-404.2.4.4and 11B-404.2.5 and CBC Figures 11B-404.2.4.1 and 11B-404.2.4.2. Provide typical door threshold details and details of change in floor covering material.Thresholds (CBC 1010.1.7): Plans must indicate the floor or landing on each side of doors is not more than ½ inch lower than the threshold of the doorway.Where stairways occur outside a building, the upper approach and all treads shall be marked by a strip of clearly contrasting color at least 2” wide and not more than 4” wide placed parallel to and not more than 1” from the nose of the step or landing to alert the visually impaired. The strip shall be of a material that is at least as slip-resistant as the other treads of the stair. A painted strip shall be acceptable. (CBC 11B-504.4.1)Provide handrail details on the drawings showing compliance with CBC Section 1011.14, 1014, and 11B-504.6. - Stairways shall have handrails on each side. - Handrails shall be 34 to 38” above the nosing of treads. - Handrails shall extend a minimum of 12” beyond the top nosing, and shall extend a minimum of 12” plus the tread width beyond the bottom nosing. - Ends of handrails shall be returned or shall terminate in newel posts of safety terminals. - Handrails projecting from a wall shall have a space of 1½” between the wall and the handrail. - The handgrip potion of handrails shall not be less than 1¼” nor more than 1½” cross-sectional dimension or the shape shall provide an equivalent gripping surface. The handgrip portion of handrails shall have a smooth surface with no sharp corners. Any wall or other surface adjacent to the handrail shall be free of sharp or abrasive elements. Edges shall have a minimum radius of 1/8”.Design is incomplete. Further review, additional plan check fee and plan check corrections may apply. As an option, removed the unpermitted door and windows and restore the exterior wall according to the original permitted condition.ENERGYProvide energy design for addition of the fenestration area in compliance with 2019 California energy code. Indicate U-factor, SHGC value and VT number for the new glazed fixed window and glazed door.STRUCTUALProvide structural design, calculation and connection details for the new header of the door opening on plan.END OF COMMENTS
