Approval and General Information
All items noted on this plan check report must be addressed. If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit 2corrected sets of plans.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100)
- Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)
- County of Orange Health Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings ((714)433-6000)Sheet A-1: Important!Public works encroachment permit is required from Public Works prior to resubmitting plan back to Building Safety for recheck.Please provide public approval. On the plan, please provide occupant for the outdoor dining area. Sheet A-2: Detail 4/A-2 was not specific to gates/doors provided at the canopy. Please show/provide a level landing and maneuver spaces on both sides of the doors/gates (at all doors/gates). Maneuver clear floor space shall comply with 11B-404.2.4. On the pull side, provide 60” clear, measured on the direction of travel, with 24” clear from the door strike edge. Please revise elevations to show doors/gates. On the plan, please specify door/gate sizes. Door/gate shall comply with 11B-404. Information provided on detail 4/A-2 are not specific to the canopy doors/gates. On the plan, please specify door/gate hardware. Hardware shall comply with 11B-404.2.7. Handles, pulls, latches, locks, and other operable parts on doors and gates shall comply with Section 11B-309.4. Operable parts of such hardware shall be 34” minimum and 44” maximum above the finish floor or ground. Door/gate shall be provided with a smooth surface on the push side within the 10” of the finish floor or ground, measured vertically. (11B-404.2.10)Doors/gates shall be sizes for total occupant loads from inside of the building + outdoor dining area. Section 2: For clarity, please show minimum distance (separation distance) between new canopy and existing building. Structural: The structural will be covered with roof cover – Please design the steel canopy with wind loads. Page 2: Please clarity statement indicated that the patio frame is not subject to wind force. It should be designed with wind force. Page 3: Please provide wind analysis and show where the 0.132 kip-ft was coming from.
