All items noted on this plan check report must be addressed. If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit 2corrected sets of plans.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Fire Department approval on the corrected/final sets of drawings ((714)573-6100)
- Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)Sheet A-0.0: Scope of work: For clarity, please specify how many skylights / smoke hatches are proposed. Sheet SP-1: Detail A: Please provide/show detectable warning (truncate dome) at curb ramps. Detail B: Please revise detail to provide minimum 8-ft wide access aisle for the van accessible parking. Detail B: Please provide/show truncated dome at curb ramp. Exterior gate located at the south east corner of the building: Egress gate shall be swing in the direction of travel. Sheet A-1: Under the Symbol Legend: it is indicated Kingspan Non-Vented Skylight – Please clarify Non-vented skylight vs. smoke hatches as indicated under the scope work and permit application and detail A/A-1. On the plan, please specify/provide ICC listing report number for the proposed skylights/smoke hatches. On the plan, please clearly show location of accessible restrooms. Please provide restroom plans to show compliance with 2019 CBC, Chapter 11B Division 6. Structural Review: Please provide calculation for the roof frames supporting new skylights / smoke hatches. Design roof member for existing + new loads. Existing roof diaphragm: The seismic force using R value of 6.5 appears incorrect. Please calculate seismic force on roof diaphragm with the appropriate R value for an existing tilt-up concrete building. Roof diaphragm #2: Per existing building code, the 10% is only applicable to the increase of the seismic force on the existing lateral load-carrying structural element (system) due to the addition/alteration; it does not allow to reduce the capacity of the existing lateral resisting system. Please check the roof diaphragm capacity with the demand lateral loads, due to the alteration of the existing roof diaphragm.
