*Submittal rejection due to the following:
1. A number of architectural drawings attached without explanations. Separate building permit is required for the revisions to the approved architectural drawings. The scope of this permit is limited to interior stairs as part of the deferred submittal to the approved architectural plans.
2. Written response to each plan check comment is required. Clearly address how each correction is made and where can be found on the submitted plans or calculations.
Note: Numbers in parenthesis (unless otherwise noted) refer to code sections of the 2019 California Residential Code (CRC); 2019 California Building Code (CBC); CMC = 2019 California Mechanical Code; CPC = 2019 California Plumbing Code; CEC = 2019 California Electrical Code; T = Table; ICC = International Code Council.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.
The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following, prior to building permit issuance:
-Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804). Previously
approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process.
The stairway configuration does not match the approved architectural plan (refer to sheet A5.15 under permit number 101108412). Please revise architectural plans or this design and submit updated sheet A5.15. Design should be consistent. On sheet A5.15, please provide guard, handrail design and handrail extensions. Handrail extensions must return to a wall, guard or floor. Minimum 42” guard is required where the height of the stairway is more than 30” vertically to the floor surface.
Please provide stairway handrail and guard design and structural attachment to support minimum 50 plf and 200# concentrated live load per CBC 1607.8.
