Call 647-5800 for information.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance: - Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804). Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039).PLAN CHECK COMMENTSACCESSIBILITY REVIEW COMMENTSRevise the plans and parking summary to provide a minimum of (1) van accessible, and(1) standard accessible EV spaces. (Table 11B-228.3.2.1)Building Division response (2nd review cycle):Not resolved. The applicant opt to comply 11B-228.3.2 exception #1. Please provide a letter from the property or business owner with official letterhead, name, signature and date from the property or business owner. A letter of statement that “The proposed electric vehicle charging stations are not available to the general public and intended for use by a designated vehicle or driver only.”Incorporate this letter onto the first sheet of the plans. (Sheet A0-00.)Indicate in the scope of work by adding the note: “The electric vehicle charging stations are not for public use and shall comply with 2022 CBC 11B-228.3.2 exception #1.” (Sheet A0-00.)Add note on the site plan that signage is required to identify each private use EVCS. For example, signage should include the wording: “Electric vehicle only for: vehicular number, license plate or driver’s name.”Show locations of all EV spaces and accessible routes on the site plan. Compliant EV spaces shall be located on an accessible route to an accessible building entrance. (11B-206.4 & 11B-812.5).Building Division response (2nd review cycle): The applicant tried to use 11B-202.4 exception #10. However, this exception does not apply to this item. Not resolved. Demonstrate the accessible routes on the site plan from the accessible EVCS to building accessible entrances.Show the proposed finished surface slopes and cross-slopes of all EV spaces, access aisles, and accessible routes. Access aisles shall be level with the EV space served, and slopes/cross-slopes shall not exceed 1:48. (11B-302)Provide building sections and dimension the actual vertical clearances along the full length of the vehicle spaces, access aisles and vehicular routes serving the EVCS. A minimum vertical clearance of 98 inches shall be maintained under all vertical obstructions, including cable management systems. (11B-812.4)A0-03, A0-04. Detail 11. Fully dimension all EV spaces on the plans. The minimum dimensions shall be: (11B-812.6)144 inches by 216 inches long for van accessible EV spaces;108 inches by 216 inches long for standard accessible EV spaces;Building Division response (2nd review cycle): Pending to item #4.A0-04. The color of all striping and markingsshall not be the blue color used for identification of accessible parkingspaces per 11B-502.3.3.(11B-812.7)Building Division response (2nd review cycle): Not resolved. Blue color is not permitted at the perimeter of the access aisle in the detail 11/A0-04. Do not use blue color in any portion of the EVCS marking or stripping.SIGNAGEDetail and provide identification signage as follows: (11B-812.8)Identification with an ISA(International Symbol of Accessibility) and signs identifying van accessible spaces are not required where a total of four or fewer EV spaces are provided;Building Division response (2nd review cycle): Detail 13/A0-04. All operable parts and control shall be 15 to 48 inches above the clear ground space for both forward and side approaches.
