All items noted on this plan check report must be addressed. If you feel that an item is not applicable to your project, note “N/A” and discuss the reason with the plan checker.Please indicate the sheet number and detail to the right of each correction, or note the number on the plans where the correction is made. Resubmit marked original, calculations and this correction sheet. A separate sheet for response may be used.Resubmit 2corrected sets of plans.The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following prior to building permit issuance:
- Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804.) Previously approved plans
should be submitted to expedite the process.
- Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840)
- Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)Part of the response to the original correction requirement that the existing fence and gate to be removed to provide an accessible route from the public sidewalk to the building, and mean of egress to the public right of way. Revised plan now indicated the existing fence and gate to remain. The existing sliding gate is insufficient. The following are required: A 36” wide pedestrian gate/door is required. On the plan, please provide a pedestrian gate/door. Gate/door landings shall not encroach into the public way. A 60” clear landing (measured in the direction of travel) with 24” pass the strike edge on the pull side; and 48” clear landing with 12” pass the strike edge on the push side of gate/door. Gate/door shall be located on an accessible route.Provide gate/door detail to show minimum 10” smooth surface at the bottom of gate, on the push side, and operable hardware. Gate/door hardware shall comply with the following:Egress doors/gates shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. (1010.1.9)Openable parts of such hardware shall be 34 inches minimum and 44 inches maximum above the finish floor or ground. The force for pushing or pulling open a door shall be 5-lb maximum. Operable parts shall be operable with one hand and shall not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist.(End of Comment)
