The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following, prior to building permit issuance (CHECKED BOXES REQUIRED ONLY):
☒Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804). Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process.
☐Public Works Agency approval (647-5039).
☐Fire Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5839 or 647-5700).
☐Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840).
☐School District Approval; and a copy of the school fee worksheet, completed by the plan check engineer, shall be required by the School District to verify the scope of the work.
☐Proof of Worker's Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuance.
☐Grading Permit. Application is made through the Building Safety Division (647-5800) and the plan review is by the Public Works Agency (647-5039).Comments have been provided on drawing and calculation hard copies in relation to all comments below. Applicant must pick up red marked sets from city prior to resubmittal and return marked up set with resubmittal.DrawingsSheet S2.2Plan 2Verify notes indicated strap on top side of sheathing to occur. Member looks to be bearing perpendicular existing framing. Ensure strut is adequate for new gravity loading and drag loading. Verify detail 12/S4.3 reference at Grid B/9.1. Should this be detail 14?Verify continuity tie shown at Grid 9.1/C where mezzanine framing changes direction and where existing wood bearing wall occurs. Provide revised details as needed.Strut lateral bracing detail reference 6/S4.3 should have the lateral bracing shown in detail as well as where lateral bracing is to occur.Provide calculation for new drag beam shown on plan. Verify if drag beam is completely unbraced. Include any strut vertical reaction being supported by drag beam. Verify wall anchor shown on plan at new drag beam location. With various sizes, it should be clearly identifiable on plan which girder is which size. Identify dashed line type found between existing wood bearing walls on plan. Revise note at new strut specifying angle and KBTZ anchors if no longer applies. Sheet 4.3Detail 1 – Reference lateral brace on plan if required at roof level.Detail 10 – Provide calculation for new drag beam support including any vertical loading from mezzanine.Sheet 4.4Detail 1 – Verify if Strap note should reference 2/S4.4.Detail 3 – Verify if beam occurs on both sides of Grid 9.1. It is unclear intend of strap on bottom. Show sistered beam on plan where occurs.Detail 4 – Verify if continuous strap shown is along entire Grid 9.1. Plan references detail 12/S4.3 along grid which specifies CMST 14. Is this meant to be the same strap? It is unclear what extend and purpose of this strap is.
