Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. - Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840) - Public Works Agency approval (647-5039)- Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) - Submit plans to OCFA may be required. After the building division’s approval, bring an OCFA approved plan to the Building Division counters for prove of OCFA approval.OCFA approval is required for removing or altering existing smoke control system.Submit sheets with delta 2A and delta 2B only. Any sheets without revision from previous approved plans (permit #101113033) shall not be part of the submittal.Building Division 2nd review response. This review do not include delta 3 revisions. Please clarify on plan showing submit scope of work in 2A and 2B only. Any added scope of work after application may be submitted separately with separate revision permit.Sheet 1A-T. Add note to the scope of work: “OCFA approval is required for removing or altering existing smoke control system.”Sheet 1A-T. Provide new narrative of the scope of work for this revision for delta 2A and 2B including clearly description of altering existing smoke control system and what is the proposing smoke control system. Is it A3?Permit record (#30313) shows existing partitions and doors between the 2-story office and the 1-story lobby are fire-rated construction for original separating type of construction. Lining up with the exterior wall above. Refer to sheet 1A-0.1 and 1A-1.1. Please revise plan to provide 2-hour fire-rated wall with 90-minimum opening protection on the glazed wall and door #101W (716).Building Division 2nd review response.Proposed smoke curtain cannot be in lieu of firewall opening protection. (706.8)Sheet 1A-C3. Clarify keynote #7. The multipurpose room exceeds 10% of the 3rd floor area (1073 sf>934 sf). Please reduce A3 area no to exceed 934 sf. (508.2). However, if the separated occupancies provision applies between A3 and B occupancies is used, show building analysis for allowable height, number of stories and allowable area justification on the cover sheet (508.4)Building Division 2nd review response. Sheet 1A-1.3. Provide 1-hour fire-partition construction detail. Detail 2/1A-6.1 does not exist.Frontage Increase (CBC 506.3): Clearly delineate any frontage used to justify allowable area increases for If=0.75. Provide a key-plan on sheet 1A-T.Note on plans: “Frontage used for allowable area increases per CBC Section 506.3 shall be permanently maintained”.The A-3 occupancy located on the 3rd floor that the allowable area increase cannot be permitted. Reduce the allowable area from 34500 sf. to 11500 sf.Provide allowable area analysis including 1st floor and 2nd floor. Check the whole building. (change of use)Sheet 1A-6.1. Detail 1 and detail 2. Identify mounting height of the shelves within accessible compartments (accessory #13). Shelves shall be located 40 inches (1016 mm) minimum and 48 inches (1219 mm) maximum above the finish floor.
