The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following after obtaining approval from Building and Safety Division, prior to building permit issuance (CHECKED BOXES REQUIRED ONLY): ☒Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804). Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process. ☒Public Works Agency approval (647-5039). ☐Fire Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5839 or 647-5700). ☐Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840). ☒School District Approval; and a copy of the school fee worksheet, completed by the plan check engineer, shall be required by the School District to verify the scope of the work. ☐Proof of Worker's Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuance. ☐Grading Permit. Application is made through the Building Safety Division (647-5800) and the plan review is by the Public Works Agency (647-5039).Comments have been provided on drawing and calculation hard copies in relation to all comments below. Applicant must pick up red marked sets from city prior to resubmittal and return marked up set with resubmittal.DrawingsSheet SP1Ensure all handwritten items are incorporated in resubmitted drawings. (e.g. Scope of work, shed demo being under separate permit, etc…)Identify on plan which walk-in-closet is being legalized. Add the following to Cover Sheet: Deferred Trusses – Submit two (2) sets of truss calculations and plans to the city for plan check. The truss calculations and plans shall include review of roof, mechanical and lateral loads (chord/strut & brace loads); also include review of top chord and bottom chord for axial + flexure between panel joints. The truss calculations and plans shall be stamped, signed and dated by a licensed civil/structural engineer. The truss plans shall be “review stamped” and “wet” signed by the engineer of record.Sheet EC1 is missing from set, please provide T24 compliance.Verify entry addition shown on Site Plan, area does not fully match plans. Plans show addition flush with existing kitchen. New reroof projections shall be 1-hour fire rated where required.Sheet 1Label Patio and Storage as Unpermitted on Existing Floor Plan. Sheet 3Rebar in new slab on grade shall be #4 minimum.Update or remove note on plan noting 6-mil polyethylene vapor retarder.Sheet 4Specify on plan and justify existing lateral system along all walls with new complete re-roof. Provide calculations.PC #2: Comment response states that existing roof is not being touched, new trusses will be added without touching existing roof. It is unclear how this is to occur, drawings shall be revised to show existing roof framing. If existing framing is to remain and new trusses to be added, calculations will need to be provided to justify added mass to existing structure. Any Assumed existing lateral system for lateral resistance shall be shown on drawings to and be noted to be vif. Provide detail for truss bearing support atop interior bearing walls.Verify detail for strap shown between new wall and new truss at west side. It is unclear how strap is to be attached to truss. Provide additional detailing for drag truss support at wall line. Sheet 5Provide roof overhang dimension at all sides. Sheet 7Front Elevation – Verify stucco shown above roof at new entry. It is unclear, plans show roof over window. Sheet S3Detial 2 – Justify shear transfer at non-alt option.(End of Comment)
